well ive been going to car shows and getting truck parts for me and helping friends get truck parts i got the overload auxillary leaf spring helper axle "plates" on the axle and sandwhiched between the axle and trailing arm so next up i just need to go pick up my overload springs themselves. tomorrow i plan on working on the tailgate some anf hopefully weld it fully and then smooth it out some. |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Today I worked on the tailgate some more and got the front primered. It's looking pretty good, still need to work on the back and then I will need a thin skim coat of bondo... Sad to say. And I painted the AUX leafspring Helper axle "plates" black.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Whatever you do..DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT EVER SELL YOUR TRUCK. Its your first one. No matter how many excuses I try to tell myself to not worry about my first vehicle/project (1964 chevy c10 swb) that I got rid of its all a lie. I MISS MY OLD PICKUP. No other car/truck can replace that ONE i let go.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
I can't tell you how many cars and trucks I've had ans sold/traded for something else....some you'll never get over. So its better to just keep it (park it in somebody's barn or something) until life brings the two of you back together again.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
LOL I know, but I know where the original ones are. This 68 is a very rare one. It is a Custom Cab, that was Custom ordered. It Came with engine 327/350 2 speed power-glide transmission, Power steering and breaks, flush mount gauges, as you can see short bed fleet side, steel bed floor, upgraded suspension (the F59 option) it is a factory posi, it had a 3:73 i think, in 1987 that was changed out to a 3.07:1 for gas mileage, It IS a 50th anniversary edition, (it is the wrong color now and the seat is trashed) One of the main issues is a wiring nightmare, the original windshield has never been replaced, of course it leaked, down the inner firewall the result is a fuse box that is full of rust. The 327 is gone, it has a 305 in it for now, I will be getting a correct 327 block and rebuilding that. Just a diamond in the rough that was found in a road side car lot and purchased for 1500.00 back in 1984.
