Mike did the VA come with all the EZ clips you needed or did you have to but additional ones?

I love the EZ clip stuff! I have it on both my GTO and my C10! I'm about ready to redo my engine side after doing my LS swap. They make it so easy to custom route your A/C lines, and if you change your mind later, or change things and need to redo a line, you aren't having to rely on another shop to do it.

I have not mentioned this yet but I made the decision a few months ago to switch from outboard mounted bags to inboard mounted bags. I ordered a notch brace from PB that is designed for the inboard bags and it showed up last week. Today I picked it up from powder coat and got it installed.

If anyone is or knows someone who is planning to do a PB drop member, I have a rear notch brace and a set of lower bag mounts that I will save them a lot of money on.

The only reason I did it is it will give me more wheel options should I decide to go wider in the future.

It definitely cleared some room back there 12" wheels would be no problem now.

Biggest difference I found between Choppin Block and PB right out of the box. With the in board bags, it looks like a narrowed rear end is almost a must There is a LOT of axle housing sitting out side the frame.

Yes there is Jimmy. Coy's now makes my wheel in a 20x12 so they may be in my future.

I have been working but it's all been little detail stuff or boring stuff but I will go ahead and bring this thread up to date. I'm at a point right now where I need to spend some substantial money to see real progress.

I'm ready for an engine management system, American Auto wire classic update kit to completely wire the truck, VHX gauges and Accuair air management. That's 5 grand right there but I have been working a ton of overtime so hopefully I will have everything in the next few weeks.

I recently finished up my trans cooler hard lines. My convertor should flash to 3600 so I also wanted to plumb in an auxilary cooler to control the heat.




Like I mentioned the other day, I ended up changing my rear notch brace so I could move my rear bags inboard. I got the lower mounts set up this weekend and got them welded in. Rear end is painted and back under the chassis.



And lastly, I finished up the Vintage Air install. Everything inside of the cab is installed and wired. I still need to make my lines from the firewall forward and wire the trinary switch but I plan to wait on that until I have the cab and inner fenders installed so I know how I want to route everything.



I really hope to have some substantial updates really soon. My goal of wanting to test fire the engine by Memorial Day is still possible but I may need a miracle to make it happen.

Everything looks good Mike. The American Autowire is a great kit and fairly easy to install. However, since you do not have a stock truck, I think it will be overkill. I used one on my green 68 and ended up eliminating a lot of the wires and extra circuits. Go to their website and check out some of their PDF files just to get an idea of how it lays out.

Rob is right. I had the classic update kit in my 71 and it's great! Doing my LS swap, I've practically deleted half of the wiring.

A Painless harness is not a bad choice, but there may be cheaper options out there.
