Re: Post your pics of 64-66 Panels & Subs
I got this from someone that had stalled half-way through his build...he did that before I got it and I fear he may have used the interior upper trim piece to do it with...he had it set up for bags too but I didn't get those with the deal.

Re: Post your pics of 64-66 Panels & Subs
it would not have been stock but perhaps installed from a suburban. panels were pretty bare boned.
I have a set but you should be able to find them closer to home ron |

Re: Post your pics of 64-66 Panels & Subs
I have found few people locally that know what I am even talking about. I remember seeing the Helm's bakery trucks that delivered door to door when I was a kid and their interiors were not bare bones. I believe this was probably ordered from the factory this way...I have over a 25 year history of this truck and doubt someone decided to make sheet metal to match this well in the 70's or 80's. This is chevy tin...little doubt in my mind. So, about your set...how much plus shipping to 92506? 95437 may be cheaper and just as good for me.

Re: Post your pics of 64-66 Panels & Subs
Something else that is weird, it looks like this had a split tail gate setup at one point and was converted to barn doors. I have not seen any panels that had the hinge pockets for the upper tailgate. Makes me wonder if this was come coach built conversion panel.

I haven't seen those hinge pockets on a panel before in my searches either...the interior side-panels being finished with sheet metal when all panels I have seen and told about are bare bones interiors...makes you think the panel was altered for a specific business use similar to the one above. |

Re: Post your pics of 64-66 Panels & Subs
On another note...I found a guy in San Diego with the upper trim piece I am missing to finish off the interior side panels...I am thinking some nice wood paneling for the ceiling to match the wood floor. Then all I got to do is find some bucket seats for the front, switch out my 283 for the 350 I inherited, and some misc. stuff then its a runner.

Re: Post your pics of 64-66 Panels & Subs
As visible in the picture above at the roof rails the side panel is screwed into the inner framework at those points. I believe it tucks into the lower panel before it is screwed down. I haven't disassembled it to know exactly...Odd that there are inside sheet metal panels on a panel truck...seats are from a Suburban...panels with barn doors never had openings for the tailgate back? (I was wondering what those holes were...So, I guess they don't have delete plates for them either) Its looking like I have a Heinz 57 panel truck.

Re: Post your pics of 64-66 Panels & Subs
That guy in San Diego is a nice guy. I bought some steel wheels and some taillight lenses from him for my 66 Sub a few years ago. Now I need to make a list for my 61 Panel and go visit him...

Re: Post your pics of 64-66 Panels & Subs
I understand that I am speaking from the next generation and am only guessing, but my 1968 has the hatch /tailgate. There are plugs in the side posts that can be removed to reveal the bolt holes for doors, and at the same time, has no holes for the upper and lower door latches.
