The exhaust is just built out of mandrels (sp?) and wasn't a kit. The mufflers are called 409 Flows or Flows 409. I had never heard of them and a local shop had them in stock. Told them we were looking for quiet. I'll get a video when I can of it running. We are waiting on more pipe to finish the tailpipes.

It's a coolant overflow I found online. I think I got it from Brother's.

Here are a couple of shots of the bed in primer. We filled the stakepocket holes and smoothed the spot welds on the inside of the bed rails.

The attached link is a short video of the motor running with the mufflers. We haven't finished the tailpipes yet. It's really quiet at an idle but I like it.

The second link is me stepping on the throttle from a slow roll. It's really short because it scared me a little bit for two reasons. First, it lit the tires off, and second, Mr. Policeman had just passed me going the opposite direction about 10 seconds prior.

This truck runs really good. Shockingly good. It's tight, smooth, no rattles, and gets it.

No, the front has come down on its own and I'm happy with it. I think the back will need to come down some but we will see once the bed is on.

My dad finished the tailpipes yesterday so the exhaust is officially done. I don't have any pics of how the exit but I will post some as soon as I can.

So last Saturday when I drove the truck, I noticed the starter would intermittently engage when shifting the truck from park into drive. I did a little research on my phone and learned the Neutral Safety switch was most likely the culprit. We adjusted it some but weren't able to fix the problem. Yesterday, the shop replaced it with a new one and the problem is solved.

Remember, this was a brand new column with a new neutral safety switch from CPP. I had previously heard there were quality issues with these columns so hopefully this is the only problem we have with it.

Okay, so this morning I was able to stop by the shop and they have been busy this week. Stand by for picture overload.

More about the exhaust: If you notice the bolt head in the pictures, this is how the tailpipe is attached to the rest of the exhaust. My dad builds them to slip over the exit point of the muffler and has a nut welded on the inside of the muffler pipe. He said he builds all of his exhausts this way to make it easier to disassemble. He said he doesn't ever have any leaks and it is a much cleaner look than clamps.

Also, this is how it is exiting from the back. Just so everyone is aware, I have a passionate disdain for being able to see tailpipes. I like to see where they are peaking out but nothing more. I think this should work.

They also built a little heat shield to protect the regulator and wiring from the muffler.

This picture doesn't show real well but they were able to finally color sand and buff the roof. It looks really slick. Like I said, difficult to photograph, so you'll have to trust me on this one.

They also managed to get the inside of the bed blocked and sprayed.

Again, the paint came out beautiful.

Now for a major update: if you remember back earlier in this build, the radius on the new AMD fenders didn't match the hood perfectly. I was comfortable with it but my dad never was. We left it alone for a while but they started reworking it today.

They cut this much out of the front of the fenders to reshape them to the hood. Re-welded them back together and are in the process of body-working the effected areas. The driver side was nearly perfect already but they went ahead and re-worked it a little to match the passenger side. Once that is complete, my dad will feather the color back in and clear a larger area. Should be good to go by early next week.

I'm already really happy he decided to go ahead and do this. Fit and finish sets them apart in a crowd for sure.
