Pitted areas...what pitted areas?

This frame had been sand blasted to bare metal then it was mothballed in the basement, all it had on it was flash over rust, Scotch Brite took it right off and left a great base for the POR to adhere to.

Make sure you guys top coat the por because it does not like uv light and turns a milky grey color.. Ask me how I know..

Yeah, I've heard that but will it turn if it doesn't get direct sunlight?
Is the UV enough to mess it up even under the body?

Whatever area that will see sunlight will eventually deteriorate and flake off. Nasty stuff after all that cost and work. When I por15ed my frame I painted over the por with rustoleum gloss black, while the por was still wet/tacky. Just as solid and no worries about it going to crap. Still looks as good as the day I did it, well almost, gotta wash it

never topcoated a frame and it doesnt flake off.... I doesnt see direct sun unless i was to roll it...and if that happened the thing would be junk anyhow..

I prefer the flatish surface anyhow.. the last one i did I shot the whole sucker with Cosmoline... its just like factory fresh with that nice sticky gooey film

You get a chance to see more detail with it being a lighter color but maybe that's not a good thing...dunno.

That was the masterseries rust sealer primer, then I did the glossy topcoat... That primer is very very tough... www.nomorerust.com

mine's not UV stable either but for a frame they said it would be fine... I just try to avoid leaving it all day exposed...
