Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
I will be posting pictures hopefully later today but wanted to give an update. The tailgate has been done and today my upper chrome should be here. Taken it to a few small shows and seeing people on their backs under my truck makes all the hard work worth it.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Upper chrome came in yesterday as scheduled and as predicted I dropped everything I was doing, opened my package like it was Christmas, inspected all the chrome and started to install. I ordered two extra door moldings and shortened them to fit the back doors. I am very satisfied in the way they turned out, they look good and you don't have to squint.
Unfortunately the passengar bed molding arrived bent. So another one is on the way so I have to wait.....I hate waiting. Threw in a picture of the spray in liner so you could see the color match and texture. Very happy with this product. I don't believe I have mentioned this yet but driving this truck has been so cool. Anybody that has a 67-72 Chevy truck is automatically programmed to notice any other 67-72 Chevy truck, I love seeing the look of confusion and then the grin and usually a thumbs up. One of the things I really enjoy about driving this truck is it runs and drives like a brand new truck. I am very happy with the results of all my efforts to keep it original.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Ya,there is a story behind the black wheels. I sold my 89 suburban and was not willing to give away $1,800.00 worth of tires and wheels with it. Soooo I put the rollers that were on the crewcab on it. I have a set of wight factory wheels that are painted and ready to go on with stock hubcaps and beauty rings. All I am waiting for is a set of 285/75/16's $$$$$$$.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Hey Randall, I was wondering if you could do me a favor? Can you sit in the front passenger seat and take a picture of where your knee is in relation to the window crank, and then do the same in the right rear? I am making all the measurements for my rear doors, and I figure while I have them shredded, why don't I make sure the window regulator and door handle are in a comfortable location. I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
PM would be fine, I really can't go much further back with the regulator or forward with the door handle it looks like, but if it doesn't take too much to make it more comfortable, I will move them. Thanks man!

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
These pictures are dedicated to the moron that called me today and offered me $8000.00 to build a four door crewcab. He could not understand how I could charge $15,000.00 to custom build a four door crewcab. There are so many things that you just don't see that it takes to make a crewcab. So I broke it down for him, I told him to pull out his calculator and asked him to multiply 200 hours times $75.00 per hour and he came up with $15,000.00, oh did I forget to mention that I am supplying the suburban and pickup truck and all other materials.
For those of you that truly understand what it takes to build one of these cabs I appreciate you. Thank you.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
75.00/hr is cheap for that kind of work isn't it?
