The truck looks so nice! Hopefully the miss is something simple!

Re: High School Project Build

Out of curiosity did you use a multi-meter to test each injector to see if they were within normal resistance range, it could have saved a lot of money, unless of course you got the new injectors for free.

Re: High School Project Build

What an awesome build. You can tell those kids (boys and girls) are having a great time workin on this old truck. Turned out real good. I like that you kept it simple. Great job. My wife teaches 4th grade grammar here in NC. We need more teachers teaching these kids some real world skills.

Re: High School Project Build

I got the injectors, but I've not had time to put them in. I didn't use a multi-meter, but use a scanner to kill each cylinder - 1 didn't make any difference and 2 others made very little difference

Re: High School Project Build

Well I got the injectors in today - and it runs like a charm. I still have to put chrome around the tail lights and tailgate, and put the stickers on the letters for the tailgate. Also gonna get the computer tuned. Should be ready to go after that and put it in ebay in the next couple of weeks - so pass the word to anyone looking for a good truck

Keep us posted for when the truck goes on Ebay.

I saw the twin to this truck on HRPT in St. Louis and thought it was yours. Until I looked under the hood...

Re: High School Project Build

I took the truck to get it tuned. It still has a miss. I changed the plug, wire, and coil on #8 - it still had a miss. I haven't had time, but I'm gonna run a compression test to see what it shows. After that I may have to go deeper to find culprit - hopefully a bent push rod is the cause - hopefully it's not a valve problem. It's gonna be a couple of weeks before I can check it any further

Re: High School Project Build

Well I finally fiquired out the problem with the truck. It ended up being a bad injector in the new set that I bought to fix the miss to start with. That's another lesson learned the hard way - just because they're rebuilt, doesn't mean they are good Needless to say, I am very ticked off - but glad it's finally fixed. I have to download some good pics and hopefully get it on ebay next week. I will keep you posted

That's exactly right always check rebuilt injectors before installation, don't assume they work as intended.

Re: High School Project Build

I put several miles on the truck yesterday, everything seems ok now.
Running down the road with the A/C blowing and everybody looking and giving a thumbs up was a good feeling!
