Re: My 65 Pickemup project

Yep, that's a cool truck. I am a factory stock guy for the most part... But I have to admit, that's a cool truck. It's all about restraint. Tasteful restraint (and being slammed to the floor). Nice work, Delmo.

Have you used it yet? If so, was it easy to apply, and how well did it work?

Sorry for the hijack Delmo!

I am not much into the slamming the trucks to the ground, but this one is nicely done!

I have used a product (not on my trucks, but other projects) called CPES, short for Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer. One place to buy it is Jamestown Distributors. They sell boat stuff. This product is used extensively in the classic wood boat restoration hobby. It soaks in and hardens up, effectively sealing and solidifying otherwise soft wood. It won't make good wood from pulp, but it will help if your wood is a little iffy. Be warned: Its not cheap!

That's what I ordered from Rot Doctor in Washington. It was less than $60 for 2QT and they said it should be enough to do my LWB. I'll update my build thread with pictures and results.

<edit> Here is the info that got me thinking this was the right stuff to use.

That sucks, but at least it went to a good home. What'd you sell it for? She was a sweet truck.

Love it. Love the truck and the music. Had to listen to it a couple times. Where did you get the bird on the mirror?
