I have started on a different set of brackets for the trucks using the 5 x 4.75" wheel stud pattern, but I don't know when I will have time to finish them up.
Gotcha. I guess I'll just have to buy a pair of Impala rotors and re-drill the 4.75 pattern in between the 5" pattern.

How do these calipers adjust the parking brake for pad wear?

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

I just assumed they had some sort of internal ratcheting mechanism. Did you use new/rebuilt calipers or used?

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

They are rebuilt. The design does not have a ratchet. The Camero did though, have a ratchet built into the handle. But I'm unsure if this was to adjust the parking brake or simply keep the cables tight.

Has anyone successfully tested this on a running truck? How's the P brake hold?

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but what is everybody using these rear brakes using for a proportioning valve? I would really like to avoid using an adjustable one if at all possible.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

I do not know if there are any differences in the brake bias with the aftermarket fixed disc/disc proportioning valves.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

I had interference with the e-brake lever arm on the caliper and the bottom of the back of the trailing arm. SO I installed these facing forward. But now I am putting airbags in the rear and the e-brake cable will interfere with the bag.

The main problem is the big rubber bushing that's on the e-brake lever arm. I don't know what that is for - harmonic dampening?

Any suggestions?

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

I believe the 'rubber bushing' you are referring to can be removed. Do you have any pics of your installation. I just can nit picture how the e-brake lever could make contact with the trailing arm. I have been looking at the pics in post #184 and post #220.

The time has finally come and I check back to make sure everything is good and see this. So I re-read the thread and found you already said they won't work many pages ago. Dangit!! I have the 10 bolt. When I read 10 and 12 bolts I just assumed my 98's 10 bolt was the same.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

Sorry but I still don't have anything for the '88-'98 10 bolts, I'm still working 80 hrs a week every week. There are actually 2 versions of the 8.5" 10 bolts in the '88-'98 trucks which have different backing plate flanges both of which are different from the '87 and earlier 10 bolts. I assume one is a standard duty and the other is a heavy duty. Additionally the '88-'98's have a wider brake offset. I am still hoping to get to these one day.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

After reading through this entire thread it's not clear -- has anyone found calipers that include the bracket and e-brake setup? Rock Auto has excellent deals but not all of their products have pics, so it's hard to say whether this stuff is included.

I picked up mine from an auto salvage yard and made sure they had the e-brake setup. I cleaned them up and are working great!

I'd rather find a new or reman set, never know what you're going to get with used calipers! On the other hand there could be useful connectors to be had along with the salvaged calipers...
