Tell me about it!!! I wanted to hook up the steering and take the frame for a spin around the block as it sits right now!

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build

Finally! A big step in the progress on Gumby! The body is on!!! Im really excited about the build at this point and its starting to look like a truck again. Firewall where the heater used to be and all unneeded holes are all welded up, metal finished and painted. Cab bottom was cleaned up and undercoated before it went on.

Del also got the trans hump out and the high hump is ready to go in next. As soon as the wheels get here, it will be a roller again! Its getting very very close. What do you guys think?

Thanks everyone! The engine is very close to body color. I think we went a shade or two off just for some slight contrast. I like the look of everything matching.

The pump is just a factory style pump that you can pick up from many of the vendors here on the site. We just put a smooth black pulley on there for a clean look.

Great looking truck and awesome progress!

I have two questions, which wheels are you going with?

And any particular reason you left the drums out back?

Thanks guys! Wheels will be the new Intro built Delmo specials, you just have to hold tight to see them. As for the drums, the brakes work great as is, and you won't really see them through the wheels so I stuck with what works.

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build

Are you planning on running AC on this? If so which compressor are you going to use? Original and keep the OE look or upgraded Sanden type (maybe body color to blend in better)? Also, whats the paint code on this truck? Is it a factory color?
