Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
lol its cool..
heres some pics of the stuff i put together over the weekend. amazing how the elements can make "brand new" look hideous lol i will clean those rotors up with a scuff pad before driving it. also still waiting on the brake lines. i do have to the shocks ready to put in, just need to get new bottom mounts bolts/nuts and the top nuts. these bags give me a lot more clearance so now i wont have to worry about my bag rubbing...peace of mind i guess

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
nothing special, just decided to post of pic of the shocks i used. Monroe pn 5752, from a 50 Chrysler.
i did get the passenger side 73 brake line ran, waiting on the adapter fitting for the driver side and the front is pretty much wrapped up other than the brake booster and master cylinder

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
lol..i put it on hold for a little bit, the weather has been cold and rainy lately, so i been tryin to wrap up this front suspension so i can get back on it. on a side note, i took the front wheels and had the tires removed so i can strip them down and paint them and get new tires put on.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
had a few hours today to get some work in, got the front 2 wheels sanded down with a wire wheel and then used 80 grit to rough it up, shot 3 coats of rustoleum self etching primer on it. wasnt trying to get them down to bare metal, just good enough to get the paint to stick. these rims does have its fair shair dings and scratches, but i think they should look good when they are done. later during the week i should get a few coats of single stage black on, then either this weekend or monday im taking them to get the tires mounted...stay tuned!
Before Primed

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
lol..i was hoping they would shine a little bit
the red would look cool with a white wall tire. im debating on getting NEW tires, or good used ones. they about 70 a piece for a new tire with the thin whitewall..the used are about 80-100 a set. still trying to decide also whether or not to order some baby moon caps..

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
well the problem im having is the only ones that will fit are 10 inches..the nubs on mine are on the outside of the inner circle. i dont know if moons that big would look good. i dont want to drown out the black paint that much. i wish there some that went on the inside of the inner circle that snapped on..

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
well the paint took about 5 hours to cure to touch, so hopefully the tire shops are open tomorrow and ima go grab a few tires for these and slap em on and then take off the rears.
had a few minutes today to get something done while the kids fell asleep. finally got the front window out! felt relieved to find nothing horrible, just some surface rust. there was some scaling on the inside layer but nothing horrible..looks worse than what it is.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
Hey Kev, the Niftee 50ees will be starting on April 2nd. Normally the first show is the biggest, last year was over 600 rides. That might be a good day for ya to swing by the shop then we'll cruise over to the show. The Sub is lookin good! Those rims came out really good, keep at it bro!

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
ill def. shoot for it!
well, came back from tire shop just now. good news and bad news. first, they didnt have my exact size i needed with a white wall (215/75/15). so i opted for the 215/70/15, not that big of a deal. well, he gets the tire mounted and goes to balancing, they are both a little bent. he still balances it out, and the good news is he says i can still use them for the rear, just not the front. so now im contemplating even using the other 2 and just find 4 more, or still use the ones i have. im taking the other 2 in tomorrow and see if they are bent as well. if they are, then im trashing them. if they are both good, then i might use the set anyways. pics later today of the wheels mounted...

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
well, it looks like these rims just wont work. i got everything tightened up, put the wheels on, and the front passenger side wont even make a full turn without rubbing the spindle...sucks
and on a side note, my compressor wont fill my tank from 0 lol. i. i had to fill up my tank with the home compressor, it will put air in when there is already air, but not when its empty...?...its always something. heres a shot of the rims thats not gonna happen..

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
finally got the damn rims right!!
man it was a hassle...so..close to 6 rims, 2 paint jobs, and numberous trips to the tire place...they should finally be good other than 1 needs to be balanced (second shop didnt do it but sure did charge me)...oh and about 140 in tires (used, but A LOT of tread left), 35 in mounting and new valve stems, and another 20 for a rim i needed...so about 200 bucks in the hole..but i guess its not so bad. i need to clean up the white walls on the tires so i should have some pics up tomorrow. i can finally say..its a roller now! lol. i did plan on doing the rear brakes but i can wait at a later date for that one. anyways..pics tomorrow!

Gee, I was gonna tell ya wheels are lookin' good! I was reading somewhere that you've gotta grind on the A arm for certain 15" wheels to work with Drop spindes?
I dunno? Have ya got your disc brakesetup done yet? Ive gottan booster mc prop valve brackets linkage etc for sale 71 72 need any of that stuff? Is the hole in your crossmember safe?? lol It look like a rough cut with air line going through it?!!? Stay at it!
