Re: PO has me PO'd
Started to put the front of the motor back together. Knocked the tube out of the drivers side manifold, drilled and tapped for plug(11/32" drill, 1/8"-27 nfpt tap). BTW, I didn't tap it with the manifold on the engine
I have to rotate 1/2 of the alternater housing to get the plugs for the wiring to align to the outside and build another 'L' bracket to clear the fan blade. Getting ready to start on the drivers side exhaust pipe, then it's time to hang the core support to get the radiator and battery in it...also want to prime and spin the oil pump to see how things work Finally got the pass. side door to line up better, just alittle more tweeking once the fenders are on. Thanks Rockrln, for mentioning that in another thread

Re: PO has me PO'd
Started to work on the rad. support, found out it was hit on the right front. So a little hammer and dolly work got some of it out, where the lines are in the pic needs more, but it is right behind an uprite brace. Some creativity involved... Lower area pushed back about about 2". Of course the lower battery area needs to be replaced...
Got the power steering hooked up, and finally got the correct clamps from NAPA (SS #33226) Exhaust seems tight, may have to delete intermediate bracket, I'll decide after I get the CC hooked up to a clamp. Here's some pics

Re: PO has me PO'd
Sorry to hear about your family.
The weather here is less than desirable...or...it sucks! On a good note I went to Harbor Freight and picked up a media blast cabinet and 4 vehicle dollies today. Maybe this will give me some motivation o get something done.

Re: PO has me PO'd
Thanks.
You will be amazed how helpful the cabinet is to clean parts, that was my third tool to buy along time ago. My cabinet is about 4' and I would not have it any other way, but my compressor is down rite now, and have to rebuild it. The dollies are useful to, since I have a small shop. My Harbor Frt. is about 15 min. from me. Great place to look around. They had a new compressor for 90 bucks and I should have bought instead of buying parts to rebuild mine. Oh well hindsight, 20/20!!! Soooooo, you may be getting started? Good time of the year, nothing happening.... good luck and post pics Hey I was talking to Dave's Amnesia the other day, he's headed my way in the spring. He wants mine dun

Re: PO has me PO'd
Looks like you are coming right along on the Jimmy. I hope to make some good progress between now and christmas, I will post pics for sure.
Good luck with your compressor. Isn't Dave from your way originally? Nice guy. I've got to get over to his place soon. The Jimmy should be done by spring...won't it? Things seem to be rolling along nicely. Good luck.

Re: PO has me PO'd
Well Gentlemen I just spent 4 hours at Tri Pro. What an experience, shelf upon shelf, rack upon rack, warehouse upon warehouse, of every piece you need to build your truck. Nice stuff, I don't want to hear any more complaints about the product, it is top shelf or GM wouldn't give them the license to put their name on it....
Every piece I picked up had the wt. of a good quality stamping, no waves, and tight bends. All in all, a piece that should be on all our trucks. You could build you truck from this place. When I saw the torsion boxes, I was sold. Talk about some beef, these things won't rust thru for another 40 years, I was going to build my own. Why should I? The time I spend on them is not worth it. The price is that good...if you want to save money, I suggest you save it elsewhere. The '67 grilles are awsome, the tailgates are awesome, the firewalls are awesome. Wait till you see the new headlites he is getting ready to offer, really nice system. Jon said the name, but I forget already(CRAFT) Rant off

Re: PO has me PO'd
1 hour ride up the Jersey turnpike. I will be buying rad. support and torsion boxes. He had the pc. that goes behind the rockers, didn't know it was available. Would have saved me a ton of fab. work!! Between the 'a' and 'b' post.
He invited me up to see his pick up truck project, it was just a look see at what he had. The wifey said don't take any money

Re: PO has me PO'd
My 'war' has bin going on for 35 years and she holds the high ground
Her answer to my spending is that I have to have a job, go figure Hey Chevyman, I bet VT beats both of us on his build. Never met a man with more determination and drive...I'll spend all day trying to get my intake back on and he'll rebuild a motor in the same amount of time

Re: PO has me PO'd
That's a nice idea with the diesel, you could make your own for .70 a gallon
