The brown primer 55 is in and out of my garage quite often! They gray 55 is on the back burner for now, and the 60 wagon is about to get a re-power. The duece pickup just gets the wheels driven off it!!!

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

Just finishing this one off... Gonna get it done and sell it to finance my 68 pickup. This is fun, but just not functional enough. Gotta have something I can drive year round. This picture was after I got done wet sanding and buffing the car. There's nothing like cleaning all the slime off a car after that... This is atomic orange, a 2008 vette color I believe.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

Great thread guys,I've only read a few of the posts but will enjoy reading all. My most unique project is a custom built semi replica of a porsche 550 spyder(the james dean car).It has a custom chassis I designed along with special design suspension. It is powered by a Northstar mid-engine in the back. The body is fiberglass and heavily modified to fit the chassis. Next big step is paint.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

As soon as the truck is running I'm going to restore my wife's 67 VW Beetle. Its been sitting for 20-something years and is in bad shape, but her daddy built it for her and gave it to her for her 16th birthday, so fixing rather than buying a different vw will be the goal. besides, I'm getting a welder soon and that will be my practice project

After that I have a 63 nova that I am dying to build. The plan is a twin turbo 496 BBC, 10pt cage, front clip, big-and-littles, etc.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

I have had this for years... and I haven't touched it in years, LOL

And the wife's car... she bought this the month after she turned 16(which was a very long time ago!) and until 10 years ago was the only car she had ever owned. I painted it, did the interior and installed a new engine (all several years ago). I need to finish the suspension and the A/C. Now it sits in the garage covered because she is afraid somebody is going to scratch it.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

damn yall got some sweet projects out there! i got a couple but i wouldnt say mine are moving along quite as well as yalls. i got darlenne (66 c10), gertrude (90 jimmy), sharla (05 sierra), and master lazer blazer (02 blazer).
darlenne i plan on bags and a restoration. hopefully a nicely built straight six. two tone blue and brown.
gertrude is gonna be crazy. awd, 408, turbo, 3000rpm stall, 4l80e, 2000-02 ss camaro wheels, two tone black and red.
sharla lowered 4/6, cam the 5.3, magnacharger, built 4l60e, 4.56 gears. basically MY answer to the lightning.
master well hes about done. cammed 4.3, slightly built up 4l60e, gears, locker, 4/5 drop. all i need to do is c-notch, and tune.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

Well, my pictures went away, so here's a more current picture of my '96 Impala with the new chrome wheels that I put on it awhile back. This goes to show that in spite of the crusty nature of my truck, I'm actually still attracted to shiny things.

I've been trying to convince my wife that one of those would make a great family car LOL!!

Well, I drive mine every day, and I think it makes a fine family car. If you look at that picture closely, there's a child seat in the back. It's pretty safe with that full frame around it. It drives like a modern car, but still has roots to the older muscle cars that I like. It isn't like everything else on the road. Gas mileage isn't exactly Cavalier territory, but it's certainly better than most pickups or SUV's. 27 on the highway is achievable. I've had a lot of experience with these over the years, and I keep coming back.

My last car was actually a '95 Fleetwood, which is almost exactly the same under the skin as the Impala, including the engine and drivetrain. You can usually buy something like that or a Caprice/Roadmaster for less money, but still do the same sort of thing with it. I would recommend finding a nice B/D-Body to use as a family car.
