The second set are the drivers side which has about four inches of travel. It works really well!

Ok, thanks for the photos, passenger side has the tilt forward brackets like the blazers. I thought it may be a set of sliders like the drivers side, something I hadn’t seen before causing my curiosity. Thanks again for sharing.

I'm subscribed to the travelogue!
That is a really nice Burban you have. The brown seats with the red is rockin. I've never seen one with a headliner colored to match the seats like yours is.
I like it!

Hi Beach-Burban.

Of course, I'm more than happy to include you guys! The first day of the trip is tomorrow. We'll leave home, drive 15 minutes to the inter island ferry which takes three hours to cross Cook Strait, followed by a three hour drive to our first stay in a place called Kaiteriteri. I'll get some photos up tomorrow evening.

Thanks,
Vaughan

Hi Mr Toni.

If the vehicle is older than 20 years it can be kept left hand drive. It definitely is a process to get through though as the government are keen on making sure there aren't a bunch of left-hookers driving around. Before it can get on the road it has to go through a certification process where an engineer assesses against the NZ car standards of the year it was manufactured. That's not so much a hassle given things were a bit more relaxed then, but if there have been any modifications, e.g. my engine, transmission, rear axle, rear brakes etc., it's assessed against the current standards.

I've heard of some horror stories where people have been left with a large bill to get a vehicle up to standard, and have heard of one case locally where a square body Suburban was failed and could never be driven - ouch. It is a PITA to go through, but in hindsight its a good thing knowing it's safe and certified, particularly when driving around with the family.

That's just plain awesome! And just so everyone knows I'm not a "Valley Girl" so I don't use that adjective often.
