Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Well I tore more out today and also found a lot more rust and holes then I thought. Replacing all this is definitely going to take a while. I've never really welded steel. At work I weld aluminum all day but that's totally different then steel. http://

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
If you can weld aluminum you will pick up welding steel quickly. I give you 15 minutes and you'll be flying.

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
I would like to get them from you. But at the moment I'm super broke. Maybe you will still have them when I get some extra money.

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Do they make replacement pieces for the lower area of the inside of the cab infront of the door? I might not have explained that area very well, I'm talking about the area in my pic a few posts above. I didn't see any patch panals in any magazines. Probably just fab it out of sheet metal?

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Do you have any other patch panals that you don't need that you see I could use?

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Finished gutting it today. That guage cluster was a pain in the butt to remove but thanks to all the posts through out the forum I found out exactly what knobs I had to remove for the cluster to come out. I took the stap brackets off the back of the inner cab from the fuel tank but the bigger brackets on the floor have the nut in it for the cab mount. Has anyone removed those and maybe just welded the nut to the floor, or I guess you wouldn't even have to weld it.

I was snivelling because it looks so much cleaner and I was wishing I had just bitten the bullet and done it too. If I can remember who did it, or run across their build thread again I will link it for you. (This is the bad part of reading everyone's build thread around here, sorry) Great progress on yours though man, I know I really look forward to the day I can take a cab off like that and work with it !!
