Re: Lets see the survivor trucks! original paint only!

Here's my 72 K10 Custom Deluxe with the original dark olive/white or whats left of it.

I'm not sure why the paint hasn't faded the same, passenger door and fender vs the hood. Maybe its had some spot paint work over the course of it's live time. Kinda cool effect, I have been back and forth trying to decide on repainting it or not.

I know the doors on the trucks with white roofs fade different due to the fact the white was painted first, and over sprayed on the doors. So you start seeing the white under the paint as it wears thin. I have a Dk olive truck with a white top, and it's doing the same thing

Good point Joe, I didn't think about the paint process having an affect on how the paint would fade or wear.

That, and the fact that it's green, but the inside is still light yellow....

Re: Lets see the survivor trucks! original paint only!

Here is my original paint 1970 Chevy C20 and my original paint 1970 GMC 3500. I plan to use the C20 until I can get the GMC 4x4 up and going. Then the C20 may get sold. Still not sure yet. The GMC is a long term project. I have always wanted a 4x4 dually.

Re: Lets see the survivor trucks! original paint only!

I'll join in, my '69 C10 which has been in Alberta snow belt since new. I still can't believe it has a near perfect original windshield.

The bed obviously was the worst part of this truck but many, many hours later...
