Deadhead;big 10-4 on the food and drink, probably a leading factor to my blocked arteries, why do all fun things have a downfall? In 1972 I thought these items were just normal, and the Canadian Base option was an every-day consideration when purchasing a vehicle north of the 49th!! Thanks for info, have a cool one on me;Tomq

Interesting SPID from a 1972 MY Flint Blazer - I don't see the paint description listed

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Thanks Tim. I caught the rpo for the paint was just puzzled by lack of the descriptor. Yes I did see the spare tire cover listed - interesting that it is listed separately as the cover is included w the CST package. Any guess as to an assembly month?

A build date is hard to nail but I can tell you the last 71 light duty trucks there ~3400 were built in July of 71 off both 6xxxxx and the 8xxxxx assembly lines. Seeing as this is a very low sequence number @ 2567 I'd say it is a late August 71 build. Be interesting to see the blue certification sticker's date or the Protect-O-Plate. Plus there is always the engine assembly code too.

Possibly early Flint SPID? Sadly, VIN not included.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
1969 Blazer VINs used a "B" rather than a "C". B for Blazer?

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
"T" should denote a GMC - my 1972 K1500 VIN begins with T so not year specific.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
If there is a "T" prefix as in TKE182F.... it is a 1972 GMC Jimmy. GM started using a division code prefix in 72 with "T" for GMC and "C" for Chevrolet. See the decoders linked in my signature for more info.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
I've had my blazer for about a year and a half and I've learned a lot from this forum so far. I figured it was time for me to start contributing instead of just reading so here's my spid.

Have you been able to identify how your Blazer paint is special? In your case I am thinking its the overall body color.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Yes I believe that's the difference. The original color (still on the inside of the glove box door) is a bright gold color. The 2nd owner had it repainted and the current color is real close to the original color but several shades darker. PPG matched the original color to a color called Walt Disney Gold. I don't think there's any significance though, because the matched color has a 5-digit paint code and PPG was still using 4-digits back in the 70's as far as I can tell.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Thanks again! Unfortunately special paint SPIDs do not reflect the colors nor specific variations from production paint schemes. Often its simply a GM car line or earlier discontinued truck line color we see in cases like this. Are we going to see any pictures of your Blazer posted as well?

Pics would be nice. Even though it's not the overall stock color it is still close.
