Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot
Ok guys...I have been in contact with 63 & 64 Bowties...There are those who do not have paypal so I will offer my address verses Dawn's because it might not be wise to offer her personal information to all those who are reading this thread. If you want to send $$$ do the following: 1) Send a check or money order (no cash-for record keeping), 2) send me your Truck site name so I can enter you for the drawing, 3) also email me so I can be looking for your check.
I hope with this offer we can grow the $$$ that is being given... PM me and then I will send you my address.

Have we had any donations from site vendors at all? If not, we should probably be contacting them to let them know about this.

Add contact Add contact Sent: Fri 9/05/08 11:52 AM Reply-to: dawn.martin33@yahoo.com To: Bill (zippydodog@msn.com) Dear Bill: Hey. Hope this finds you well. I have been trying to write to you since Trai (TDave00) and Rick (MotorSeven) visited but I can't find words that come close to how I feel. I had taken a job clearing a small lot in exchange for some cement blocks I need out here, and when I finished up there, the girls agreed to stay with my mom for me to get away and think of what to say to you. Wednesday night I had to rush home because they had to call 911. Mom appeared to be having some kind of seizure. Her fists were clenched and she wouldn't respond to them. Apparently, she suffered a "mini" stroke. She is doing much better and I'll be bringing her home this afternoon. The ordeal left her awfully weak and the left side of her face has turned down slightly, I'll be taking her to a Neurologist next week but they think she should recover well. Bless their hearts, the girls were terrified but they're ok. If everyone could say an extra prayer for my mom, I would appreciate it. Her name is Iris. I could tell that Rick really wanted to buy everything I had to help me. He felt awful not to be able to, but I totally understand why he couldn't. There's just way too much stuff, and his idea of a weekend flea market is great. If it's still being considered, any weekend is fine with me whether it's soon or in the future. During Trai's visit, I was so nervous about what he would think when he saw the state my place is in right now. When I listed my trucks on ebay, I pictured a few car haulers rolling up to take everything and that would be the end of it. I would get my place back in the shape it was when Clyde (my husband) was here, and then start working on the 67 with my grandson who's 4. He loved Clyde VERY much and he remembers working on paw-paws trucks with him, and I have to keep him alive in his heart!! Well, instead, I met you and you cared enough to share my situation with the other awesome members on your forum. Trai touched my heart deeply when he said that God sent you all to help me and that no matter what I said, it was gonna happen anyway. If that statement was a representation of how you all feel, then I am humbled and eternally grateful. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for caring about my family! Dawn

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot
Wow. I'll say it again. If that doesn't make a tear well up in your eye "then your wood is wet."
Ok. On another note I need to get some feedback from you guys. I have been talking to 63 & 64 Bowties about this, and it was mentioned multiple times before we ever started receiving money for Dawn. As you can tell from that email that 67 of her Husband's means alot to Dawn, and I would really like to see what we can do to get it on the road for her. This would mean that some of the money that has been donated would need to be used toward this. Now, I would like to see at least $1k go to Dawn to do whatever she wants with. At this point that only leaves $200 towards getting her truck fixed. We have a guy that lives about an hour north of her that might be willing to get her truck on the road for her, but we are going to need more than $200 to do that. I am not talking about paint and body work - just running and driveable. There will be plenty of work left for Dawn and her grandson to do, but I would like to get it drivable for her. I NEED SOME FEEDBACK ON THIS FROM ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE DONATED. If you haven't donated, please kindly keep your opinons to yourself. |

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot
First I think you should wait a day or 2 as I just tried to donate my money but had a shipping issue? Wanted to charge me 53.00 more for shipping. I sent you an email via ebay.
Second why not approach a company like Rad Rides or Over Hauling maybe Wyo tech Trucks TV and so on there are all kinds of charities working on this exact thing. I think the truck should be completely done too not pieced together. Maybe she doesn't want it completed, I would! I would think this would be a great thing for her. |
