Re: my 98' Streetrod build
Wow! That is beautiful. It's nice to see a color a little different from the norm and isn't something over the top extreme. I bet it's amazing in the sun. I can't wait to see it done.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build
Thanks.
It has a desirable flop to it in light. It gets really blue outdoors and a little purple in lower light. Quote:

Re: my 98' Streetrod build
man! this ting looks sweet!! there are two thing you did that i was planing but didnt know how to pull it off yet, the extended hood, does the extensin hit with stock hinges? if so, wha did you do to make it work? and how was the shaved mirror accomplished? i like how you got the line in there and when i was looking at mine today i was wondering how to make it work with the weather stripping.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build
Thanks,
The hood will work w/stock pivot points, you just have to not follow the radius of the glass too closely. Give it some room but follow the shape.Since the stock hoods are nowhere near the correct shape to just extend back using the existing radius, there is quite a bit of template work to do. The mirror block offs are done like any other except you inset the plate a little to create a line to match the upper body line, then blend them together. The mouldings will have to be trimmed to fit and probably glued in place, since they no longer slide behind the mirror. Thanks for the word. |
