Cool picture, Are those old Dodge trucks. Looks like they have the suicide doors from where the door handles are located.

Re: Thread #2: Early Hauler Pictures...

I guess it could be. I now see the bolt pattern is like what Dodges had. I had just found that in a search and didn't look that close till now. I was thinking they were GMC because that's what I was searching and the article referred to than as GM. The slots in the wheels look like GM from that era. It was taken in Europe as I recall, not US military. Now I see where the Near Easterners got their idea.

Re: Thread #2: Early Hauler Pictures...

That truck is AWESOME!!!, I wonder what front axle they used to accommodate the narrow front end, or did the Budd wheels make up the difference?. What a perfect combination of old iron on somewhat modern drivetrain.

This thread had 284 posts, then dropped off the radar 5 years ago. I'd think it deserves bringing back, even if I was the one who started it.

I have some new (I hope) pictures to add

I asked because I have three wheels that might be the same. I never measured but assumed they were 16". It looks like you are good on wheels, short on caps. I'll keep my eyes open... from the isolation of my home

I wish at least one of these trucks I've show I could claim as mine. One day hopefully I'll find one in my bucket. I'm a vintage truck guy but got deep into 67-72s around '80 as my preferred daily drivers/work trucks and on from there out of necessity. I'm not getting any younger, so need to start gettin'

No I hadn't thought of that and actually meant long time. We use to work on it quite a bit but life got busy and it just sits waiting to get done. I have my 68 C10 and also bought a running driving 37 International that I have been enjoying when I can so this has taken a back burner. I also have a 40 Chevy fire truck that has been waiting a long time to be finished. One of these days.

I am not sure why the picture is upside down.

Thanks I been looking from a distance myself . I did end up with some '50 Chevy passenger car caps(3) circled in the background.

I knew what you meant. I guess it was me making the pun. I love your '68 and remember the firetruck, too. At one time I had four trucks of that size of this era. A '35 flatbed, '37 cab & chassis, '40 w/just a wrecker body, and a '41 ford hand crank wrecker w/flathead very complete and streetable, the only one. Had the fore & aft red flasher on top.

You need to get past the number 3 . No problem, only need one now of either. I need to find at least one more wheel, all the hubcaps, and a truck!

The 1950 caps are for the wheels with clips on them to hold the cap. The caps I need have clips on them to hold to the wheel. I need two to fit the truck. one for the spare and one for the right front.

Some recent pics. The second picture is prior to the service sign install. Almost a shame to cover that nice pine but I think it just adds to the truck.

Re: Thread #2: Early Hauler Pictures...

The service signs and caps really did something for the truck. The colors in the signs go right with the truck

I'll add this interesting piece. They picture caption says it's a Divco
