Re: 67 C-10 project.
oh yeah, that was pretty easy actually. 4 of the 8 bolts all just broke off, and the others came out easy enough. shop crane and 6 feet of chain, came right off. now i can concentrate on getting the frame cleaned up and the rear end situated. i noticed a few issues with the frame that i need to get addresed. some pretty big dents, not sure if they can be straightened back up. and a twisted cross piece towards the rear. but overall it looks fairly good and i think it will clean up nicely.

today i worked on the 79 rear end. it had shock mounts that i don't need and the leaf spring mounts are needing t go away so i cut the shock mounts and one of the spring mounts off with a metal blade in the sawzall...yeesh that took a while. then i ground and filed it all nice and flat. i found a rear end conversion kit that i'll need to order that has the new brackets and stuff i need to get it all working on mine. still working on getting all of the paint off the cab...

Re: 67 C-10 project.
well today i picked up a sandblasting cabinet at HF and started to clean some small parts. Seems to be working good. i'll get some pictures tomorrow. still need to get one leaf spring mount cut off of my 79 axel. i think i'll get that accomplished tomorrow. maybe even pick up the conversion kit i need to convert to our style of mounts and stuff. need to get the corners replaced on the cab floor. scary!

Cool build. Maybe you can use the frame/rearend on the donor? That donor truck was a great find!

Re: 67 C-10 project.
dans right the truck is beautiful! almost sad to tare it apart, but if you make sure it gives its life for alot of good reasons then i would say tare it apart.

Re: 67 C-10 project.
thanks Dan and Rick. once it gets here i'll give a good looking over and see what all i have. i wish it was a 1/2 ton. i think it is a short bed as well....i may get some more pictures of it tomorrow not sure if he'll have time.
today i was able to get the other leaf spring mount cut off my 79 rear end and it's now ready to have the conversion kit all welded onto it when i get it. i also worked on sandblasting some more parts, and stripping paint off the bed. busy day!

Re: 67 C-10 project.
I would consider using the sheetmetal on the parts truck.
It looks pretty straight. Just swap your 1/2 ton suspension over to it. It's also a long bed. The 3 stake pockets per bed rail gives it away in the pics.
