[QUOTE=fat56;6252183]Walking in to find this big guy laying on top of my motor. Im not a huge snake fan but thats what you get in the Australian bush.

That would have definitely freaked me out!! I don't get along with snakes since a rattler cost me a finger in '03.

Just found your build and I am impressed. Nice job.

I see your radiator is in front of the support. Will your hood close there? Thanks Rich

Nice build!

Did the 4-link and bags on the rear axle the same.
Works fine, thank you!

What size of bags do you use on the rear axle?

I am running SS6 in the front and SS7 in the rear.

Bit of a update. finally got the cab finished, prob was the biggest job on the whole car. Everything turned out really nice. Door jams look alot better now.

ALOT of Rubbing.

all finished and ready for final prime.

Off to get primed in a booth.

Final Fit up before paint.

Oh and had another visitor, it was bigger then the first one. This place is turning into a reptile park haha.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)

Things have been slow. Few set backs that are going to slow the paint process down. But full steam ahead .

The upholstery is all sorted and started, Red leather and red carpet. The guy seems to know his job and has done some killer work from what i have seen. He is also keen to get involved in the project so that helps me out thats for sure.

All springs are gone from the seat, new technology foam is now the go.

Still have to remove another inch of foam for the height i want.

Question Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)

new to the site, and i noticed that on your chassis the motor mounts are raised, could you tell how much they raised and why? I think i might have a simular issue.

I cleaned and hosed the shed out.

After laying the colour / basecoat down

The hit it with the Clear. Came out ALOT glossier then i expected. Turned out good for my first time ever. Only got 1 run and 1 little bug haha.

After letting it harden up for a couple days, it feels good to be putting things on that will never come off again

Accuair system and compressor.

brake booster mounted

Finally got the front end parts to rebuild it.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)

Hey all,

Thanks for the kind words. Truck still sits as it is in the last photos. Had some health issues and have put the truck on hold untill everything is back to normal.

Didn't make summernats unfortunately, not even as a spectator this year. i will be there next year thats for sure.

The motor mounts are lifted 25mm as the subframe sits on the ground the sump would have hit, saves buying a new sump and the sump can be dropped without pulling the motor out. It also gives me more room for the headers and steering shaft . With such a huge engine bay area the motor can be moved around with no dramas at all.
