Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"
Ok so I'm just looking for a few opinions on color here. I'm wanting to do the bottom half solid color then with the roof of the cab in an off white, most likely birch.
-The old Vette has HOK brandywine on it -The blueish silver suv is called frosted steel -The charcoal suv is called metallic bronze -The BMW is Marrakesh brown which I find different because in different pics the color really changes -The buick I'm not sure of the name but I think it is a cool looking pearl-green-blue. I'm willing to take any opinions just to get an idea so comment comment comment lol. I just want to do it in a little different color then the normal blacks reds oranges and so on.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"
I like the bimmer color- pair it with a creamy off white. Or, one of the blues with stark white for a classic look. The bronze might look nice paired with a titanium/silver. Different is good!

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"
If I may add to the color wheel, a little gold that stands out from a crowd!! Maybe some candy pearl from paintwithpearl.com in the clear will create a great contrast, check em out they are cheap! (Everyone freaks out over my paint). Off white with a little touch of pearl gives a great effect also. Everything you have done so far looks great so I am sure you will lay down some awesome colors no matter what it may be!!

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"
Well we took the truck out on just about a 240 mile road trip yesterday, and ended up getting about 23 MPG, I'll take that. It's pretty amazing how well it rides and drives. Now all I need is a Vintage A/C kit and to get the cruise control working.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"
As some one who had had a silver vehicle (my 72 was originally Mercedes silver), I would never do it again. Silver and charcoal are very very difficult for most painters to touch up without looking like $@@$. And you will almost certainly have some touchup to do. Plus (I know it sounds ridiculous) some people think it is primer. I actually think that brown would look amazing on this truck.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"
I think the BMW brown maybe even a 2 tone using that same brown and a lighter contrasting color near the GM Pewter line. Or the corvette color. I like those 2 best.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"
Spotted another color that caught my eye, as much as I hate saying it, it's on a F_ _d Focus lol, Frosted Glass Metallic. It's a silver/blue/green. Looks different in different types of light and there's something about it thats caught my eye. Opinions are good! good or bad I want to hear them from guys who know these trucks and have the eye for this kind of stuff and can imagine it.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"
HAHA, you would!
This is awesome! Im pretty speechless on this build. My opinion on the paint would be the BMW brown with a nice cream top. Interior a cocoa brown leather with some light cream accents.

I'm with nibs, but I'd do saddle or bomber jacket leather...

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"
I almost painted my truck gold, ended up with a dark blue with a bit of metallic in it and pearl white roof, only because I like blues, but I still would LOVE to see that truck end up with a gold and off-white two tone! My second pick would be the BMW brown with cream.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"
The Prowler had a really nice gold (Inca Gold Pearl Metallic) and it was a factory color that you can purchase without custom mixing so it will always match. This color really looks awesome in the sun too.
