Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Entropy...If you search "Entropy" on this board another member posted a picture of the one he bought. The one I ordered has 1.250" tubes and dual 14" fans, $790.00 is still a lot of money (includes shipping) but close to half the money of a BeCool radiator.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Climbed under the 68/71 for the forty-first time in two months today.
The "T" on the front stainless brake lines (the "T"'s stock) is leaking. Came home and looked for the "T" in the LMC catalog, since I bought the 7-pc. stainless "kit" from them. I just wanted to go ahead and buy the "T" they sell in case they'd opted to provide some strange fittings with the stainless lines. Turns out, they don't sell a "T" for the front lines. I know because I called them and they verified they don't sell the "T". "So", I asked, "Can you tell me the thread size and pitch so I can go buy a "T"?" "You see, the lines are already on and I don't want to lose ALL my brake fluid". The nice lady put me on hold. Then she came back and told me she had "exhausted all her resources".....I said, "Okay, so what is the thread size?" "If you sell the 'kit', someone must know if they are stock "T"'s.... or otherwise." She said she'd "put in a ticket" and that someone would call me. Naturally, that didn't happen. Oh, well. If it were easy, everybody that wanted to spend more on something than it's worth would be doin' it!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Picked up 4 copies of "Vintage Truck Magazine", that my truck was featured in. November issue, page 44, brown 1970 GMC from New Carlisle, Ohio. It was the Mid-Ohio Mini meet, held at the Vintage truck show, in Yellow Springs, Oh. Only place I could find the magazine, was at Tractor Supply Stores. Are they nationwide or just local? Will try and post pic tomorrow.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I fabricated a bracket for a 7 pin RV trailer plug. Then wired the plug and brake controller into the system. I should have done it when I re wired the whole truck as it took a while to make it look like it was not added after the fact.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
we (my son and I) dug a little deeper into the front disc conversion yesterday.
pulled the old boost/MC off and compared it to the new one. Can you spot the new one? You can see in the picture where we took measurements for the input shaft(aka pedal rod), hole center to hole center was (9-1/8" - 9-3/16"). Here it is mocked up for a photo We also bought a new complete front line kit. More details on it later And a peak at the disc clearance on our new 15" wheels. Just going to clear. we had fun and got REAL DIRTY... O yeah, almost forgot, I had him remove the lower A-arm shaft like my dad had me remove then back in the day... The hard way... |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
how else do you remove them then if you dont use a crescent wrench? j/k lol. But seriously Thats how I did mine... except instead of a hammer I used a 3' cheater bar I had laying around worked real slick. and the ball joints how are you supposed to get them out other than a BFH, cause the shop press wasnt cutting it when I went to use that!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
That is a small hammer compared to the sledge we used to get ours out!!!!
We had a very busy weekend!! We did the following.... 1. Cleaned and blacked out the inner Grill Shell. 2. Put the Inner Grill Shell and the Grill together and put them in. 3. Installed the back Glass. (lots of Dawn soap was used!!) 4. Installed the gas tank. 5. Test fitted the seats. Found out I have to buy a between the rails tank.(that is going to hurt the pocket book!!) Thaose are my two... This is my sons truck. He is getting impatient to say the least......... |
