Re: My Facetruck thread.

I'm eatin' bbq chicken I just grilled up, along with a bean concoction and southern seasoned broccoli. For breakfast on the weekends lately, I'll eat some sort of cereal or oatmeal like I do all week. Then about mid-morning I'll cook up a single egg and eat it on an English muffin with grated cheese and a few spots of hot sauce. I'm so glad Facetruck exists so I can share my eating habits with the world.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

howdy Larry! that carb I told you about that I replaced on the onan in the motorhome is an import.. cummins has a 900 piece national backorder, our local dealer cummins cal pacific had 107 ordered for down equipment and 80 for stock but no guarantee by end of the month when we're leaving.. AND the OE carb is $380 vs $45 for chinesium.. so they had me over a barrel and I put the import in to get it up and running.. the previous owner thought it was the fuel pump and had already bought one and a filter.. I found a damaged fuel hose so I went ahead and replaced both those along with all new hose and clamps.. fires up and takes the load like a champ.. about $55 parts on me and an hour each..

so just to finally diagnose the failure, I brought the original carb to work with me to see what the trouble was.. as you suggested, it was ethanol gunk! but not holding the float down or sticking the needle n seat shut, it was the fuel stop plunger, it's definitely the lowest point.. quick cleaning and reassembly for a test and voila!

so I'm soaking everything for a good internal cleaning and planning to put it back together and reinstall.. I'll drain and clean the import and hang onto it for a backup.. I'll make some extra paper gaskets for the mounting flanges for my spare kit.. and I have some aluminum and copper seal washers in my toolbox but I'll probably pick up a couple of each of those just in case

wonder how many $400 / $50 carbs are sold to motorhome owners with that same problem?

My niece does that. She is always posting pictures of her food. Like anybody cares if she went to Panda Express for lunch.

I guess if I go to Taco Bell that I should post it to warn others to stay away from me for a while. Before the air biscuits start to fly.

Where I used to live out west in Oregon.. I noticed that every time a Taco Time would be be built in the small cities near me ,,that Taco Bell would build as close to them as they could ..and it was always after Taco Time built first..
So, I ask the planning in our town why Taco Bell built so close to Taco Time thinking maybe it was a city ordinance to do so.. He told me that Taco Bell admitted that Taco Time was more popular and so they would build close by to get some of thier traffic for their stores

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Do you all have Taco Time out east of here? I know it started here, so I don't know if it's across the country, or international, or what. The original store is about a mile and a half from where I'm sitting right now.

It is in Nampa Idaho and has been here for some years .. It started in a town in Oregon ,,might be Eugene ,,but it was made big when it was bought out and started in Seattle like the early 70ies ,,they used to have the history on the drink cups ,,I lived across the river from Longview Wa in Oregon and visited the one there many many times ,,,then they built one in Kelso Wa.. None in Denver or Southern California yet I do not believe

It hasnt been beat yet in my opinion ,,and I bet you agree..

Re: My Facetruck thread.

I've never heard of Taco Time. I looked it up. It looks a lot better than TB. (I laughed when I typed TB. Because you might get TB eating there).

Taco Bell used to be pretty good for what it is. Back when they used real cheese and not that yellow wax that they use now. Pepsi bought it and it was all downhill from there. Same with KFC, A&W, and Pizza Hut. They used to be better. Pepsico should just stay out of the restaurant business.

Does anyone remember Pup N Taco? I loved that place. Dirt cheap and it was pretty good. I used to go there on the day before payday when I was down to nickels and get a bean and cheese burrito for 90 cents and it would hold me all day. They were big burritos. Or 3 hot dogs for a buck. And they were good too.

Taco Bell bought them out. Closed them and replaced them with Taco Bell's.

Bummer.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Tippy's Taco House was my first taco "dining out for tacos"* experience in Maryland. They served crappy tacos long before Taco Bell came to town in the '80s. For a chain we had Taco Bueno. That means Good Taco in English

It should run. My friend has a '51 Chevy gasser that he restored from a burned up drag car. Maybe now he's like to do a soaked one

Lucky guy!! I wish they would build one by me. All I have is Burger King.

I admit that I like Burger King. But it would be nice to get a good burger. Everything else around here is marginal.

If I want a really good burger I have to make it myself.

Ain't that the truth! Thick patty, 3/8" thick each of red onion (grilled, of course) and beefsteak tomato, with the top inch off a head of green leaf lettuce. It looks like what they put in the ads, but don't deliver.
