Had a break in the weather before the next winter storm hits, so we took a drive around this morning and shot these photos of local trucks in the area:

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

I like the good shot of that 60-61 gmc custom cab trim.

interesting that the big truck is missing the windshield, but nobody grabbed the V8 emblem yet...

are those all spokane valley?

looks like I should wander through with a wad of cash ,a truck and trailer and some tools!

There are a bunch of little mini-towns or community boundaries in the Spokane/Spokane Valley area and I'm not clear where one starts and the next begins, but all the trucks are roughly within a 10 mile area (or less).

I was surprised to see that GMC cab trim, it's only the 2nd time I've ever seen the piece that goes across the back of the cab. The big trucks have been sitting in the same spot for years. It appears to be a working family farm or agricultural business and the trucks were moved a few yards to their current location when the building in the background was constructed. It appears when something goes out of service it gets added to the stash and nothing is ever sold or parted out. Here's a larger photo:

We used to see a lot of so called adbandonded (not driven anymore) trucks in our area Mark, but over the last few years they have all disappeared, either the crusher or builders/parts trucks, we almost have to travel all the back roads to find any,,

Welcome to the forums.
Mean looking Truck.
Your truck is an older cousin of my truck

I plan on keeping my box because it's original - Old county truck.

Quite unique... very nice! Any history? Was it a forest service or logging truck?

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

Thanks for the welcome....
I am the second owner....actually the third titled owner.
The history was easy to get....as I bought this a month ago from the original fella's son-in-law.
The story goes like this...or so I was told.
In '63 this guy, who worked for a Government entity and was in charge of a communication tower in the state of Nevada, ordered this truck.... basically as it is today. He drove it up the hill in the morning....manned the tower all day and then drove down the hill in the pm. Every few years he was sent a request form for a new rig, but turned down the offer.....in favor of this one.
In '84 he retired and bought it from the Motor Pool....drove it for a couple of years and then passed away. His wife kept it in the barn 'till a year ago when his son-in-law got his hands on it....Thank God he lost interest before he did anything silly to it.
I'll post more recent pic's pretty quick, as I spent the last week putting Hydra-Boost and a Dana 44 & 12 bolt under it. I know its a shame to alter something so purely stock, but this rig will never see a show.....and I'll drive it daily......so it also got some seats......just to sooth my old bones.
BTW: It drives like a new pick-up.....and rides pretty nice too.
