A 472 caddy for a 17 year old?!?!?! I smell tickets in your future!

Seriously though, nice to see more and more younger generations developing a love for the older vehicles. Nice truck! Start a build thread when you start making changes...

HAVE FUN!!!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

That's great Drew! I said developing because not everyone starts at such a young age. That's awesome that you did, and it's even better that there are a lot more of you guys out there! I've watched a couple of guys in their mid 20's become classic car/truck guys that weren't before then, so "developing" was the right word for the blanket statement I made.

Start a build thread so we can see your work-in-progress!!!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

Hey all, Scotts72heavyhalf son here. Saw this thread and thought that with all the other 16 and 17 year olds popping up I would pitch in too! No big block or frame off here but I have a 1972 Custom/10 deluxe, 350, PS, PB, deep dish rally wheels, tilt, tach, original am radio converted to am/fm but still has original face, sport bumpers and is probablty 90% original. Got the truck from my grandmother when I was about 10 and have put a lot of time and money getting it back to its original glory. The pic with the white wheels is when I first got it and the others are from recently. Enjoy!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

Nice truck. Its great you have kept it so original. Try and keep it that way as much as you can and as much as your heart will let you. Fads come and go but original body frame sheet metal etc is always in style and the most valuable. 5-10 years from now you probably wont get 10 cent on the dollar for these 22+ chopped up air bag patina trucks most kids are doing today. Just like when I was young. used to put a then new 88 up step side on a 67-72 short bed. Or put an 88 up frame under the 67-72. Or just simply cutting out the radio panel for a CD player or customized dashes with an integrated center console wrapped into it with big seats etc. Who wants that now?

Hawssie, if you will use the quote button or at least mention the person's name, people will know who you are talking to.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

Now I feel like I officially belong, rather than just reading and looking at other trucks Picked up this 72 K10 for my next project. It's gonna need a new floor, rockers and cab corners, but the bed is pretty decent

Here's my 71' 3/4 ton WIP when I got it it came with a 1985 305 motor (Which I found out a few months later putting on a Edelbrock manifold and carb)I need to get it a better paint job and drop in the 327/300 65' vette motor a end gave me I will keep it he same color I painted it..it was originally metallic Olive an somebody porch painted it olive drab. I have to say tracking down the original hubcaps was difficult and expensive (Ebay)
