Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Truck in my sig ... Been laid up from surgery for the past few weeks. Drove it around today for the 1st time in a while. Sure was nice! That was after I checked all the fluid levels, including the anti-freeze. Good to -20 degrees.

Cleaned and polished the original paint on the firewall and reinstalled the freshly built 402 and transmission back in the C20.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Installed some newly painted plugs in the shoulder belt holes and bought a new seat. Picked up a 2nd row seat out of a 99 suburban for 75 bucks. 60/40 split and both seats flip up so you can store stuff under there. Saw the info from another member on the board who used one. Funny thing is I have a 99 suburban in the driveway so I went out and measured and made sure it was going to be comfortable and fit right.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I fabricated a bracket and installed this oil separator for my PCV line. I'm surprised at just how much oil is collected in 100 miles of driving.

Those work good. I put one on an Aspire I had and it collected alot of oil to begin with, it seemed to slow down after awhile.

What is the purpose of the separator? Does it help the motor?

It traps the oil vapor that comes thru the pcv system and keeps it out of the intake manifold, cleaner intake plenum and less oil burning in the combustion process.
