Re: My Facetruck thread.

I just renewed my Concealed Carry permit online, which reminded me of a funny story.

I was in a casino in Biloxi, MS, and went to the desk to get a club card. When asked for ID, I wasn't paying attention, and handed the girl my CC card.

She said "What's this".

I looked at it and said "Oh, that's my concealed carry card".

She threw that card back at me like it was hot, and asked for other ID.

Go figure.

Can't get that where I live in California. I don't need it where I live, though, since about one in five homeowners around here are law enforcement, and I'm in a housing tract, not a farm or some sort of acreage. Thing is, that's the kind of ID that actually has more stringent requirements than a driver's license. Yes, go figure.

Now her fingerprints are on the card. If it is used in a crime it can be traced back to her

I worked with a guy that had darn close to the same car. It may be the same car. It sure looks like it but his had Cragar S/S rims on it.

It was a fast car too. It had a big block in it. He drove it daily and I never once saw a speck of dirt or dust on it. He was meticulous with keeping it clean and rarely got on the throttle. He babied that car and it showed. It was a beauty.

What a funny reaction. It used to bother me when people reacted negatively to something that I was enthusiastic about. Anymore though, it just makes me chuckle and feel a little bit sorry for them. It can't be fun to carry around all of those unconcealed negative assumptions and preconceived ideas.

I wrote that story about the CC on the 17th. It started me wondering about renewal. The thing was due on the 18th. I got it done.

It's dark bronze and cream. It was painted bronze and cream when he go it. We repainted the truck and the cream thing was popular on new trucks at the time, so he left it.

It went to the Chicago area.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

It was a great visit. I was there 2 1/2 days and only left the place once to take a ride in a big circle around the area. Helped me appreciate it more.

I wish we could have brought my mom up. These are my two eastern sisters and I have two western sisters, ID and NM. I hope to get together with those two before too terribly long.

Thanks Tim ,,I will never get to see what Maine really looks like in person out in the country so these photos are great to see for me.. you see I used to live down river from Portland Oregon about 50 miles and they say that the two places Portland Maine are very similar .. the under brush the trees and coast lines ..
Glad you got to visit with siblings ,, too.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

I hope I get to see Portland, OR. A big difference in the land in Maine compared to here is it was glaciated. The rolling hills are deposits from the glacier and then there are mountains spotting the landscape. Here it's pretty much all continuous ridges, with some random rolling hills in the Piedmont between ridges
