I was hoping you weren't one of the bees also! Hahaha. The commercial was good though! Great acting skills. I almost believed you were selling that car.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Just spent the last several hours running through your thread (busy day at work today). All I can say is KUDOS man! That's some serious dedication and perserverance there. I can't wait to see the final product!
I also appreciated seeing the posts of you teaching your boy. My son and I are peas in a pod and I probably wouldn't have even started my build if it wasn't for him. Our best time together is in the shop.
I also had to share my VW photo. This was going to be my build, but then I stumbled across my '67. I sold the bus to a local guy who is already tearing into it. He's got a thread going on Samba. As soon as I get my truck rolling again I'll have an '07 GTI for sale!
Nice work!!!!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

after work tonight.....plan on doing a little bag mount surgery , raise the upper mounts an inch and add a little bracing to them. The next pic is just my motor setting waiting for its turn at the paint shop, stripped and ready for some real paint, i cant wait to get it painted i am ready to put all of the pretty stuff on it , but i am making myself hold off on painting it until the frame is repainted and ready to drop it in !

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

im doing the same, after this accuair mock up off to paint to make it all perty witht the lines, tanks, exo rings and manifold bridge. gotta add some color to it to make the pretty stuff pop when seen. if you need any help with your accuair stuff let me know Ive gotten perty good at it, except the hardline part(such a bi** no matter how many times you do it. but if you get a blue point/snapon tube bender it is the cats meow and they also make a great flare kit too with inserts to make sure not to mar the line. I suggest Red Horse for your hardline fittings, there finish is perfect and they make a ton of cool fittings. keep on keepin on brother. you have my cell hit me up any time....text me your number again and Ill give you a sneek peak of my accuair set up in mock up stage.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

weekend updates first thing , since i am to tight to buy the exo mount system i wanted to do something to make my compressors quite like they are with the vibration isolators used on the EXO system, so i came up with my own vibration isolation pad ! hopefully it keeps the noise down alot

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

next i worked on raising my rear bag mounts 1 inch and added a little extra bracing, i also had to notch the crossmember right above the drive shaft , and now the watts link cradle is bottoming out on the bridge cross brace, the rear of the frame is still about 1/4 inch up off of the floor but i guess i will just have a small amount of rake !
