The fender flares work well on that truck!

97 Sierra 5.0 L with a 5 speed, 2-4 Belltech with 20’s. Original tires hitting fenders so hoping 245 45r20 will clear. Roll pan on the way and dual cat back exhaust on order.

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks
Ha. Looks like I have a twin brother. I bought mine new in 1997 during the sport truck movement. Did all the work within the first month of ownership and she as been faithful all these years. I started with a full phantom grill and switched to the 88-93 grill. Been like that for going on 22 years.

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks
Thanks guys, It seems everything done to this truck was done ok but not great.
Everlet have you ever towed anything or hauled much weight. I'm going to use this truck and I hate to raise it back up because it sits pretty good.

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks
I used to tow a 20’ boat and it was never an issue when it was a 4/6 drop. I even towed an 18’ steel deck trailer with a 1956 pickup on it but that tow was riding on the bumpstop
Now that I’m at a 4/8 drop, I haven’t towed anything. I do have air shocks in the back in the event I need to raise it up a few inches for towing purposes.

That looks really good! Super clean. What mods were needed for clearing those, front and rear?

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks
I feel I'm going to have to roll my fenders this summer. May do 20's.
Well, now it sits with a small bit of rake. I took a few bags of sand out, pulled off the crazy huge and heavy tow hitch (gonna do a roll pan and hidden hitch). I'll try to get some pics again if the weather eases up. |

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks
Looks good. This is roughly the mild stance (with stock wheels) I'm looking at in my '98 for now. Any significant change in handling/ride quality? Curious if you ever haul anything and what that's like now.

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks
I really dont tow anything, I have another truck for that, it dont ride bad at all. Im sure it would ride better with some bilsteins or something other than the older bell techs i have now.
