If I can remember who did it, or run across their build thread again I will link it for you.
(This is the bad part of reading everyone's build thread around here, sorry)

Great progress on yours though man, I know I really look forward to the day I can take a cab off like that and work with it !!
Thanks dude. Yea all this definitely was not what I had in mind. But one thing led to another and here we are.

This is a complete truck. Big back window supposedly no rusted out spots long wheel base fleetside. It's out by my mom's in Oklahoma. He wants 1500 for it. I wish I could get it.

Re: 66 c10 first timer build

Unless it is a running rig, with a decent interior, $1500 is probably too much.
And it would have to be rust free, mostly.... LOL

I think I got it. The extra hardware confused me.

Re: 66 c10 first timer build

It doesn't seem like the straps are going to reach. Do have to use straps. Or can u just bolt it up?

The holes line up with the holes on the tank I just need to shave a little off the frame so the filler nozzle won't hit it

Here's the strap don't think it will reach. With the tank being reinforced where the holes are do I need the straps?

Re: 66 c10 first timer build

Maybe I am not understanding what you are asking correctly, but doesn't the tank get mounted below the frame & supported from the bottom side?...and @ approx. 8 lbs/gal of fuel, I am pretty sure that is where you need support from the straps anyway...Maybe?

Re: 66 c10 first timer build

Finally got a chance to tune back into the build.

On the tank straps....... Are long bolts used?
Does the tank strap need to be flipped over so the flange goes outward?

On my Camaros the tank strap has a 4-6 inch bolt that synches down the straps on the tank.

Just an idea.

Yea I just put it upside down with the straps sitting on it just to look at.

Re: 66 c10 first timer build

I got it installed today. I had to notch the frame a little so the filler tube will slide over the tank neck. Also had to trim a little on the on the mounting bracket on the tank. Only thing I'm thinking about changing is putting lick nuts on it instead of just lock washers.

Really clean install. The tank looks as though it was designed to have always been there.

Thanks. Yea it turned out pretty good after the few little mods to it. I'm happy with it. Now I just have to figure out what I'm gana do about the bed cross member that goes directly over the spot where the filler neck is.

Modify and reenforce it I suppose....because moving it would probably not be a great idea.
