This is a complete truck. Big back window supposedly no rusted out spots long wheel base fleetside. It's out by my mom's in Oklahoma. He wants 1500 for it. I wish I could get it. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Unless it is a running rig, with a decent interior, $1500 is probably too much.
And it would have to be rust free, mostly.... LOL

I think I got it. The extra hardware confused me.

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
It doesn't seem like the straps are going to reach. Do have to use straps. Or can u just bolt it up?

With the tank being reinforced where the holes are do I need the straps? http:// Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Maybe I am not understanding what you are asking correctly, but doesn't the tank get mounted below the frame & supported from the bottom side?...and @ approx. 8 lbs/gal of fuel, I am pretty sure that is where you need support from the straps anyway...Maybe?

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Finally got a chance to tune back into the build.
On the tank straps....... Are long bolts used? Does the tank strap need to be flipped over so the flange goes outward? On my Camaros the tank strap has a 4-6 inch bolt that synches down the straps on the tank. Just an idea. |

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
I got it installed today. I had to notch the frame a little so the filler tube will slide over the tank neck. Also had to trim a little on the on the mounting bracket on the tank. Only thing I'm thinking about changing is putting lick nuts on it instead of just lock washers.

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Really clean install. The tank looks as though it was designed to have always been there.

Re: 66 c10 first timer build
Modify and reenforce it I suppose....because moving it would probably not be a great idea.
