Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

I think you might have the water pump in the wrong place. I'm not sure it goes there.

I completely agree....but for now I'm going to run the stock steelies with caps. If/when I have the cash for....or find an amazing deal on a set of 20's I'll go as wide as I can in the back with the stepside and bags w/out modifications...

What tires are ya planning on running on your steelies? I'm having a hard time deciding on my 67. Thinking 235/75r15 with a small whitewall. Ready to see what you have in mind!!! Your truck is my first to catch up on every night! Love the simple builds. Looking really good. Dustin

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

im going with the same style valve covers as yours now to get some clearence between my motor and firewall, i got a set of v8 motor stands and when i went to move motor ahead the headers hit the A arms, i dont have the money for headers right now so thats the best fix i can come up with i hope they dont look too bad im painting them the same color as the block

Cool! I didn't know you had a hard line kit but then again I didn't ask! Looks like no real troubles with the cables?

Got it with the carb...I really like it! Had to put a stock style fuel pump on but thankfully I had that too

Just need to trim the accelerator one to fit...

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

No problem, I think it looks good although I'm in the paint the aluminum heads to match camp also

I think I figured out the driveshaft issue without having to have one shortened...

...I have a 2pc shaft that looks to be the right length. I will have to remove the carrier bearing bracket from my lwb frame (rivets ) and bolt to the swb frame. Will double check tomorrow

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

Always fun times in this household...my youngest (14months) fell back and bumped her head this evening when they were playing in the cul-de-sac. She seemed fine but is now running a temp and not sleeping so my wife and our pediatrician suggested a visit to the ER

So we're here now. I think it's just the cold that's been going around but better to be safe...

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

VA do you think you will have the truck driving by sunday or just running?
I hope the former because Im completely hooked on this build because of its rapid completion.
Do you think you could post some High Resolution pics of current rust problem areas and also the areas that you have already repaired Im very interested to see the detail of how it's comming along.

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

Pretty sure just running Sunday....assuming no setbacks. will need to install the driveshaft, fix a sticky brake issue, and install the front clip so I can put in the rad and mount the battery solidly to drive it.

Also have to put together an exhaust setup and modify the frame mounts tomorrow so the headers can mount up

I will get more pics of the rust repair at some point. Focused on making it driveable first. May not have all rust fixed by the meet. Forgot a few cowl areas.

So far have fixed the rust over the windshield, over the driver's door, welded up the two holes in the back of the cab, and fixed the driver's rocker.

Still at the hospital. She's fine....sleeping for the past hour. Found out she has an ear infection so that's what was causing her irritability.

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

Well, after 1 hr sleep I got up for a men's prayer breakfast....picked up a few needed parts at napa and on my way home to meet a guy buying a set of buckets and a console I restored for him.

Have a family bday party early afternoon then will come home and work on the truck if I can stay awake
