Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
That looks pretty sharp there hessian18. I like the way that bumper looks with that grille. I have thought about replacing my parking lights with driving lights. If you decide to do that, let me know how it works out.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Here's my other buddy's 1982 GMC K2500 that he bought at a sale barn for $400. It has a 350 with a 4 speed/Granny Low 1st. Since he bought it, he has added a set of 35's, dual exhaust that we saved from my other buddy's brown GMC 4x4, clearance lights, visor, and a Moroso air cleaner from his buddy. He told me to post it on here for him.

How did you prep and paint them? I have the same rims and really want a black set.

Quote:
get aircraft paint remover or something similar to strip off the clear coat thats on them. sand them down a bit, primer, then paint. i have had them painted for a few months and no flakes or chips. |

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
the funny thing is that i just tried it as a tester and it came out well
so i used the cheapest paint they sell at walmart. its like the 97 cent can. but i would have rather used rustoleum. if i knew i was going to keep it that way. |

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
New guy here. I have always heard about the site but the name threw me off and I thought it was just 67-72's. Anyway, this truck followed me home the other day. I've always loved this body style and in 4wd to boot. And to me the lwb looks better as a 4wd than the swb. But in a 2wd it is a different story. It is a 87, bone stock except for the cd player and duals. 114k on the clock and is very strong. The interior is spotless. This is what sold me on it after I saw it had no rust, no body or paintwork ever and the fact everything works, well that is a bonus. If I keep it i'll jack it up 3in, thow on some wheels and 35's and call it a day. I really dont have any room for it but when you see one this nice and as cheap as I got it, I could not resist. I also have a restored mint stock 79 Z28. This would make a good tow rig. Enjoy, tell me what you think. Sorry for the poor quality pictures.
