Re: my 65 fleetside build
Funny you asked. This is what I just went and found this morning. This 61 was loaded! Some one had already grabbed the deluxe wheel but left the center horn piece, and has deluxe heater/controls. It also had these really neat vent covers and were operated by the chrome pull knobs located on each side under the dash. I never seen that before or really paid close attention to it. All the ones I have/had are just the pull type right on the vent. It (HAD) an absolute cherry BBW panel, I almost felt guilty cutting it up. I wonder where the trim went?

Re: my 65 fleetside build
flips, just finished going through your entire thread from start to finish. Stayed up til 1am last night, then went through the last few pages at lunch. I am in awe of your remarkable skills, and the speed at which you work. The truck looks fantastic, and no doubt will be a jaw dropper when complete. Just picked up my 66 SWB FS BBW a few weeks ago...

Re: my 65 fleetside build
i havent done anything really, with the wife's company plant closing and everything! she will get a severance package thursday from them and its enough to pay are tahoe off! so we aare just going to pay all are bills off and then i'll be able to put more money into my truck! i do still have a lot of stuff in storage for inside the cab, gas tank, and a few other things that will go on the truck for now while the money is tight!!

still no frame the blasters air compressor went down he said hopefully monday, but i did get some work done in the past few days, my suspension is cleaned and painted ready for the frame and i got to messing around with a dash cluster i had that i wasnt using and mounted my tach in it that was on the column,, as you can see in the pictures the gauge cluster is in bad shape but i have another one on the way, notice the tach has a built in shift light so i drilled a small hole in the plastic and run my dial for setting the shift light through. check it out and let me know what you think

Re: my 65 fleetside build
Love the tach, is that a 2-1/2" dial tach? Would love to see some detail as to how you mounted it...

Re: my 65 fleetside build
well the frame is back on its shoes, got all my brake lines bent, flared and installed, shocks are on, just waiting on sway bar bushings and still trying to make up my mind about my steering box, mine is new but its not the quick ratio and also thought about going to maybe a 87model so my lines will be o-ring instead of flares so all my hydroboost will be easier to run. i did order my timing cover, springs, retainers and locks for the roller set-up today so maybe i can get the engine set in next week, along with the fuel system, enough gabbing heres a few pics of the frame

A damn shame to have to hide all of that lovely workmanship with the cab and sheet metal! Thanks for the great pics.
