Re: Senior Project Build
Nice tank! not sure what to do since you are going EFI...that requires a different setup with the lines than we have on our 'Dino' carb'ed trucks.

Re: Senior Project Build
Lucky where did you pick up that quick scale set up @, and around how much? I'm thinking that's a nice tool to have in my arsenal.

Re: Senior Project Build
Gray Ghost, I am going with a carb! So you can be very helpful to me =] I need to know how to vent it and what fittings to use etc...... and C10 KID the quick car scales I borrowed from my good friend who builds jet funny cars, he never uses them so he said I was welcome to them. They run at like almost 2k new I think..... yikes!!! He got them in some sort of trade. They are very handy.

Re: Senior Project Build
Here are some pics of his shop, he builds jet funnies and dragsters, and has a passion for ZO6's. I love going over there and hanging out.
This Nascar was what the scales came with, he got it in a business trade....... the scales are set up for circle track but they work fine for what I am doing. Man thats an ugly car, but I would love to have that motor and 4 speed out of there! That thing can zing to 7500 in nothing flat. |

Re: Senior Project Build
I bought a motor today!!! On lunch break from school I cruised over to Foster Auto Parts (FAP) and talked to my friendly counter guy there. He had a few 6.0's, I made a deal on one out of a 2001 2500 I believe, got it for 600 clams. They originally wanted 800. As far as I know it is complete, I go pick it up tomorrow afternoon. There will be PLENTY of pics!

Re: Senior Project Build
Haha as long as I keep off the detention list I can leave at will. And the class I have right after lunch is auto mechanics, and my teach doesn't care if I am there or not, especially if I am out scrounging parts.

Re: Senior Project Build
No problemo
In the mean time, call up a local chevy dealership and ask to talk to their parts department manager, or service manager if they fail. Don't describe that your selling parts, but say your rebuilding a motor and would like to price the parts. Should help give you an idea of what factory parts are. |

Re: Senior Project Build
Ok thanks, good plan. I will call tomorrow and see what i find out. Better yet, I will take my moms Denali in for an oil change and sit there and talk to the guys at the counter, see if they will print out a list for me. I will post what I find. Thanks for the inspiration
