Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
We got the new adapter from Rob yesterday. I stopped at the shop this morning on the way to work to see if it fits. I works on the passenger side fine, I did not try the driver side, but will put it together tonight or this weekend.

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
I got some time in the shop yesterday. The new adapter Rob sent did the same thing on the passenger side even though the jam nut when on easy. I finally decided it was the very end of the rod had messed up threads. I took a small sanding disc and rounded off the end and cleaned up the threads. After that it went on all the way.
Now it is on to redoing the motor mount stands.... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
We spent some time in the shop Sunday. We got the cab blasted and started on the metal work. The notches I did on the floor where to tight so I am going to widen them. Korbin got the motor/trans out and the frame mounts removed and the crossmember ground for us to build new ones.
I ordered a brake line kit for the frame hard lines. We will work on the brake lines, frame mounts, fuel lines over the Christmas break. We are not going anywhere since I am on call for a project at work, so we should be able to spend sometime on the truck....

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
got some done this christmas break, i go back to school tomorrow, and start baseball soon so i will have less time to work on my truck
we did get the new motor mounts made though, the cab is done getting sandblasted. started patching the cabs rough spots. can't beleive i forgot to mention it but an old friend of my father's gave me a short stepside bed that's in very good shape. will probably go with the stepside bed becasue my fleetside bed needs a lot of work or a new bed. either way more work/money. so the step side bed is probably going on. something a little different. there are a lot of trucks with similar rims, stance as mine have already been done, but i haven't seen any with a stepside bed, all fleetside. have to raise the floor on the step side bed, which is easy. can't decide if i want to do a corregated bed floor with bedliner or a wood bed floor with a rug over it for daily use and yank it out to see the wood at shows. anyone have any good ideas for taillights? i hate the factory style taillights on stepsides. will shave the spare tire cut out, the stake pockets, and bedrail endcaps. i decided i wanted to run a floor shifter, then discovered a beautiful thing called a ratchet shifter. i like the fact that it has reverse lock out, and i can manually shift it at the autocross or whenever i wanna have fun knowing that i wont miss a gear. but i still have the ability to put it on the "d" around town or whatever. i have a transgo hd2 shift kit which allows me to hold it in gear, and downshift whenever i want to whenever it's not in drive, but when it is still acts normal. so i bought a used B&M quicksilver console mounted ratchet shifter. i will build a console for it infront of the middle seat. was originally going to use a floor mounted shifter but it woul.d stand to tall in the truck, so i got the console mounted one which is shallower. will paint the ugly chrome parts gloss black and get somekind of new shifter knob. here a link to the exact one i bought http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-80688 have a circle d 278mm 3200 stall converter and 36# injectors on the way, and a trailblazer ss intake manifold and vette servo. and plan on ordering custom ground cam, valve springs, and pushrods later. cam will be a 222/226 at .50" and .566"/.570" on a 110+4 LSA with most likely PAC1218 valvesprings or LS9 valvesprings. looking to make 340+rwhp/340+rwtq and run low 13s. i will probably run this steering column/wheel but with a manual column cuz i have a floor shifter http://www.ebay.com/itm/32-GM-Auto-C...f9d91e&vxp=mtr and possibly this tank http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polished-Alu...item19d7ef0d32 this x pipe kit, and one of these few mufflers. maybe electric cut outs later http://www.summitracing.com/parts/pye-xvx10 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wlk-24236/overview/ http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mpe-11236/overview/ http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mpe-10416/overview/ i had bought a finned dual pass tranny cooler but idk if it's enough so i think i am going with this one, which is what everyone at performancetrucks.net and gmfullsize.com are using. these 4l60e and 4l80es really like big colers and last a lotttt longer the cooler they stay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRANSMISSION...99addb&vxp=mtr want to paint my rear end, driveshaft, tranny, and block body color red. just to be different anyone have any good shock recomendations? sorry for the long winded post without pics, but don't really have anything to show besides the bed and motor mounts, will get pics soon. probably left stuff out so if somethings missing ask me

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
Korbin/Karl, great build. The only thing I would change would be to weld washers on top of the tubing that you used for the bed spacers. I would think you might get some stress cracks in the bed crossmember.

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
Well we have not posted in a while, but we have been working. We got the motor mounts redone and I have been working on the cab. Should have the floor and trans tunnel finished this weekend. We will need to put it back on with the motor and trans to check fit, then back off to finish firewall and put it in epoxy.
Korbin is competing at a power lifting meet today. I'll post pics of our progress later today. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
Korbin got second in his weight class. He set a personal best for his squat, but it was not his day for bench press. He's happy about his overall.
Here is the pictures from the other day when I started on the trans tunnel. The medal is from an extra long stepside bed that we were given. We got it for the drivers fender and will be using the rest for patch panels and such. Mocked up the shifter, Korbin was not there that night so it might not be in the proper place for him, but it fits and has plenty of room from Park to Low. Last night I spent a lot of time and got the trans tunnel finished and welded it and ground down. I missed a few messurements and will have to make a few small filler pieces, but not much. Also found another spot of rust on the driver's side that I had not seen before. I'll have to fix that too. Next is to finish the firewall. I think it will have a neat feature that I have not seen before. Again, I will be using parts from the extra bed...Cab goes back on this week to check for clearences, then it is back off to finish the metal work and get it into epoxy.

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
tailgate isn't perfect but i think it's fixable.
What corvette fuel pressure regulator do i need? the one with the return lines and everything? really want to do a bolt in parallel 4 link, maybe with bags, maybe with coilovers. would rather do bags but coilovers are simpler. been looking at these 4 links http://www.truckshop.com/product.php?productid=19587 really like porterbuilts but i don't need the notch and and some of the other stuff. http://www.porterbuiltfabrication.co...ear-73-87-1900 i really like ridetech stuff but it's kinda expensive http://www.ridetech.com/store/1973-1...ar-system.html like this because it's cheap and simple http://www.ridetech.com/store/weld-i...-parallel.html anyone have any input? there are a lot out there. would really like to get a used one. not to particular about what brand as long as it's in working condition and i can get a good deal on it.

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
We ahve not posted progress in a while, so here is an update. Korbin got more of the stepper bed apart and I have been working on the firewall. I now have the passenger side smoothed and started on the recess behind the engine. I only have a picture of the PS for now. I am going to wait on the center part untill the complete firewall is done. I am not real happy with the DS now and my end up doing more on that side too. We should be making more progress very soon....
