I am jealous. I wish I had a mobile mechanic I could count of like your guy. It is such a Win-Win situation. They work when we need the help if it fits both of our schedules. When done they go back to whatever else they want to do. So do we.

Yeah, I wish I could change the thread name from "Meet Homer (the motor home)" to "Meet Homer (what's left after you chop the cr*p out of a motor home)".

That one guy was seriously p*ssed at me for cutting off that two tons of rotten wood and moldy motor home. I do get that he was expecting something else and was let down by what he saw. I get that, that's why I would love to change the thread name.

Little progress update pics.
Had my body man come over yesterday and final sand the front fenders and the main section of the cab. We masked everything off and this morning finally sprayed the cab body section back to the original tan color it left the factor with. I think it's subtle yet contrasts nicely against the stark white roof.

last but not least. I show the shot of the hood before primer. You can see where it started life as a tan inside and out truck before Open Road painted the cab and front end darker brown.

Time to go to bed. Er, I mean time to tackle the bed.
I had to cut off the bolts that held the fenders in place last week due to the mobile blaster was coming to my house bright and early Friday morning to blast my bed and tailgate. The bed with the new square body fleetside bedfloor was very solid and pretty clean top and bottom.
So here are some pics.
This morning while my body guy was working his magic on the fenders and hood I primed and undercoated the underneath of the bed.

It was 108* outside today. No way could I have worked without my shade structure and my portable swamp cooler. Yeah.

Thanks, Old Homer is shaping up.
So far this year the summer heat has not been too bad (so far), but the burner is turned on finally. Supposed to be 110* today and 113* on Wednesday, but even that is not a record here in Arizona. We'll keep plugging away.

Yeah my neighbors are pretty understanding and since I'm the guy to go to and barrow a tool once in a while,,,,,,
Paint is a Matrix base coat clear coat. I am really happy with how it's coming out.
On another issue Lanny. The seat set I got from Joe K. is up for grabs if you want it. Free to U. Let me know. I am going to put a trimmed down stock seat back in Homer.

Thanks but Im not sure what to do with the wrap around sides?? might be a good place for speakers....I wish I had my bench seat back. It just needed recovering but I pitched it for these bucket seats I have now, that I don't like. But saying all that Ill take the seat off your hands..... don't know when I can get over there, as I going to Texas this weekend ...on another note I hear rumors that I may be working in your neck of the wood again. guess well see. Thanks my friend

That is what I was concerned with too on the seat sides, that and no tracks but that's doable. Going to Texas huh? Take your umbrella. Or better yet a canoe.

Advanced Design. Thanks a lot for the kind words. I see we speak the same lingo. I also am pretty happy with Homer's progress. It has been a busy steam roller 6 months I'll tell you what. Many times I have regretted ever finding that craigslist posting. but when I think that he was getting ready to part it out cause nobody would buy it I am glad I did.
