Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
yeah... I leave for work at 4a.m. and get home at 7-7:30p.m. on days and 4p.m. and get home at 7-7:30a.m. on nights, so it sucks for family time, chores, garrage time, and free time... I really hate missing out on family

looks really good.are you going to use the newer rad support or the old one?are your front to back cab supports sitting on top of the newer frame in these pictures?

My front cab mounts would be the same as yours and they are sitting on cut down 2001 rubber biscuits - about 2 inches tall, directly on the frame. My burb rear mount are totally different from a regular truck cab.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
I got a little bit of work done last night.
First pic is the sharpie mark to drill the frame for the front cab mount. Talk about lining up perfect side to side! I now have a third frame rail?!?! The gas tank comes just under the frame rail tops, so I can't do cross bracing like the engineer had done a cad drawing of. Instead I am taking that thought of bed support in the frame plane in a different direction (literally). I have cut off all of the bed supports that are welded to the bed and instead positioning this support in the frame. This one in the center and 5 outriggers coming off both frame sides to catch the inner box walls for their support. If you are lost, give me a week and you will see what I am talking about. I also welded the spare winch back on 4 inches to the rear, my middle rail holds it up. This welding is getting better and better.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Today's update.
All the old body mount brackets are cut off. Welding struts to frame to replace bed cross members. Still have the front to do and the angled support brackets on the longer ones. They are at different heights depending on which factory brace they support. Notice I left the old mounting tab on the frame. It is a good reference point for where the old box mounted/ its level with the rear of the frame. I have been laying my level across these 2 points and clamping the correct scrap bed cross-member to the bottom to find the correct height of each strut. Started cleaning the frame to paint. Don't think I've ever seen such a shiny frame.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
I'll have to say it works quite well here in the south, this thing looks perfect. However I have a few salvage Denalis and the ones from up north are really rusty.
