Talking Re: Show us you're seats

This is a fantastic thread but what would make it even better would be a list (based upon experience) of what seats can easily be swapped into 1960-1966 trucks.

The only way we have of knowing what will fit without major cutting and welding is trial and error.

Seems like we have a wealthy of knowledge here that could greatly reduce the learning curve of others.

Just a thought.

I can't either but I have to. The drivetrain is grabbing money out of my wallet faster than can handle right now. The seat has to wait awhile.

Re: Show us you're seats

I had mine recovered at a local upholstery shop with my grandfather's name embroidered. They even made the removable back panel which I wasn't expecting. I love how it turned out.

Great way to pay homage to your grandfather, & the colors match your truck nicely.

Re: Show us you're seats

Added a few of my own touches to the GMC buddy bucket style. The center seat is removed from a GMC setup, which seems to be the only difference from the Chevy. Piping seemed a little too old school for what I'm trying to do. Went with leather rather than vinyl.

Re: Show us you're seats

Here are my Procar Low Back seats a few years back when I added small, late 60’s style diamond tufted side and rear panels:

And here it is today. The upper metal inner door pans were removed and replaced with full size door panels done in larger, more classically styled diamond tufting. My youngest son created the custom diamond sewn seat covers patterned off an original Procar example, and the buttons were added after the covers were installed:

Re: Show us you're seats

67-87 seats are supposed to be a direct bolt in. 88-99 bench seats use the same forward mounting bolts and must fabricate rear. Other than those, it's all fabricating to get them in. Installing seats on a somewhat flat floor has to be the easiest fabrication out there. if someone stumbles here, they will have a long road ahead of them on the rest of the build

Seats are so personal also. What may work and fit for one, may not another. It's best to try what you like and then make it work.
