For the final step, we have a large electric angle grinder that we run a 7" 3M maroon scotch-brite pad on.

i use a dual action (DA) sander with fine paper and good dw-40. gives you that nice photo finish that everyone likes.

Re: Project "Old Aux"

More Updates... Built a tubular center structure for the chassis. We will integrate the transmission x-member into the design as well.

Sign me up! How much room is it leaving you for exhaust along the inside rails?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

We won't be building these as complete kits to sell.... just as pre-bent tubing; frame mounting plates; and the trailing arm x-member with tabs fully welded (just without the side mounting plates welded on). There will be some cutting/coping/welding required... but the hard part will all be done!

Re: Project "Old Aux"

looks like theres room for 3+" exhaust between the fraim rails and the new tubular braces.

I have cut boxing plates for before and behind the trailing arm crossmsmber to strengthen the center of the frame....looks like Nate came up with a much sharper solution. I have to say that looks pretty good!
