O.K., O.K., you caught me. My son didn't want me to show it until it was done. Since you are on to me, I will show it. I am only putting an extra door on the passenger side. I agree with the GM engineers circa 1967 when they had two doors on the left side. They passenger rear door will be suicide style, with no post like a late model extended cab pickup.

And thats the old guy that implements my crazy ideas!!! He has been doing my bodywork since about 1978. Wait til you see the looney ideas I have for the tail lights, the top, the back door handle, the bumpers . . . the PAINT!!!!

Most of those are already a given. In southern Louisiana A/C is a necessity, not a luxury. I think I'll stop short of the airbags and onstar though.

It looks like some good work y'all are doing, I'm definately along for the ride to see all of the other tricks you have hidden up your sleeve.

I assume you are going to use late model latches on the passenger doors?

Re: 52 GMC Envoy Burb meld/build

Back to work on the burb this week. Suicide hinges installed.

Time to start seriously thinking about what color(s) to paint this truck . . .

My 1st thought was matching the interior color. Envoy's have any good colors you like?
What about finding that interior color on other GM cars?

A dealer might have source books that you could look through and see what exterior colors were options with that interior. Might help narrow down your choices?

I love the build, the process. I think "wow" works now.(for me)
Maybe a bigger "wow" down the road.

Re: 52 GMC Envoy Burb meld/build

Cutting into a pickup cab to get the door splash and the inner edge of the door. It will be used in the suicide door.
Also, playing with possible 'cut' lines for the two-tone paint.

Re: 52 GMC Envoy Burb meld/build

Dropped the door parts at the 'dip' shop today that we cut off the pickup. I went ahead and dropped the hinges, too. We will try to use the original hinges.
For the latches, we got a back door off of a Silverado and will use the internals for the top & bottom latches, and yes the front door will use a bear claw and latch to the new rear door.
