Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Intake gasket (upper), all tie rod ends, Idler arm and Idler arm assy, and Pitman arm. So glad to have all that done. Runs like a champ and after the alignment it drives true and straight.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

Swapped out my mangled and torn up original seats for a real good set of salvage yard seats from a 1998 Silverado. I figure they must have been hiding under seat covers from new since there isn't even any sun faded sections. Had both of the old seats out back in May when I was repairing the body mounts so swapping in the new ones only took a half an hour - 15 minutes of which was spent trying to remember how to put that center seat belt back together after I took it apart to get it through the small access hole in the seat LOL.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

I did some brake work this morning for my dad by replacing both wheel cylinders and a brake drum on his 97 chevy 2-door tahoe. Sadly though I bled the back 2 brakes after my dad lost a bunch of brake fluid from the leaky wheel cylinder and the brake pedal still goes all the way to the floor. I'm leaning towards a master cylinder needing to be replaced at this point. Oh a plus side though, I ordered my 5/7 drop from Belltech for my 93 gmc extended cab truck. It probably won't get shipped out until August 11th though. No big deal though, I still need to order some wheels for it anyways before I drop it.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

Swapped out my rear slider with the leaky plexiglass center section for a factory tinted fixed glass. No more raining in the truck !!! Next up is fix holes in floor caused by the broken slider, looks like 2 about 4" diameter each.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

After 315k miles, the upper radiator hose finally blew out a small hole which forced me to replace it lol. Glad it didn't happen on my quick rode trip to OKC for the Buick vs. Ford shootout.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

In the last 2 months on my 89 I've reupholstered my bench seat with vinyl. Installed new upper and lower control arms, front shocks. New master cylinder (NBS) new brake booster. New headlights/ parklights and wiring harness to go with it. 3 color LED taillight bar. Had to put on a new starter. I also replaced the seal and oil in the rear end. I have new door weather seals i need to put on sometime soon and wheel arch trim.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

I replaced all the brake lines to the rear. I had some 1/4 stainless lying around the shop to go from ABS to rear hose and used coated 3/16 for the rear axle lines. I was backing down a boat ramp when the line let go. That got my attention. I did manage to retrieve the boat with the front brakes working and a low pedal.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

generic gun. I learned it is VERY important to keep it clean. I break it down cap tip soak while I an rinsing the body. I didn't take the tip out after the last time I used it. it has such a small hole it doesn't take much to affect the pattern. dad taught me back the fluid adjustment out until it almost falls out then back in 1/4 turn. this gun only has a 4" wide pattern. but lays out nicely.
I will post pics. as I go. should have truck back this weekend. so I can finish rockers etc.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

Cleanliness is key, If the very fine holes in the fluid tip get clogged with paint soak and try to clear with a blow gun if they stiff don't clear I pull a single wire from a wire brush and clear it with that. Torch tip cleaners are often used to clean paint guns but they ream out the holes and do more damage than good.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

New battery tray, painted the wheelhouse below the battery, new radiator, grease job and oil change. I have had a wreath on every vehicle I have owned for Christmas for the past 30 years at least. My daughter hated the wreaths and didn't even like riding with me when the wreath was on. Today when I put the wreath on she asked me how to put one on her 08 Silverado.
