I really considered those sweet connectors for the LS harness.... but it was just SO much cutting, pinning, etc. Your truck is worth it though.

Freaking sweet! I'd like to say I'd do this stuff if I had a waterjet... but the cutting is the easiest step.

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

Looking for input on exhaust exiting.
A or B?

B might be changed up a lil. Just trying to figure out a direction.

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

I like B just because it’s a little different. A would be cool too if not just the traditional round tips.

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

B is a cool option if you can get it there with other stuff in the way ahead of that. A is also nice. I like to keep the tips high so no dragging them on curb exits, driveways and speed mountains. You already know to use quality hangers on the tips and/or a short flex pipe ahead of them so they dont rattle on anything as the vehicle and engine flex.

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

Badass truck no matter which way you go, but I'd vote A, too. Somehow I can't imagine you going with round tips with everything else being so customized.

I keep going back to your post 299 pics, have you considered a shape similar to what you did with the turn signal ducts?

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

I love B as the arch of the top of the tips mirrors the arch of the tops of the rear fenders (which I'm sure was planned). Very unique solution. The round tips look nice but much more common.

My 2 cents.

Marc

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

To me A is very traditional but doesnt seem to fit the flow of the truck. I think B fits better with the overall look. But remember you are building the truck for your own pleasure.

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

curious, any idea what you will do for tail lights? the B option would fit really nicely wth some custom tail lights with the same shape of lense.
it's only money, right?

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

with a build like yu have going there I think you need to decide on a tail light that fits with the rest of the build and then design a tail pipe outlet that fits with the scheme of the whole build and also the tail lights shape. that way the eye doesn't pick it all apart when looking at it from the rear.see what the local laws say you need to have for height of the lights, size, lumens etc, also whether or not you will need a third eye brake light somewhere, and whether or not you need to have side marker lights. since your build is obviously not a stock truck the local authorities may pull you over just cuz they wanna see it or cuz they don't like customs. whatever, you wanna also be as safe as possible. the newest standards got put in place for a reason so why not do as much as possible to make the truck visible under all circumstances. just my thoughts and views, but to me, a resto mod has ALL the stuff new vehicles have packed into an old body shape.

Well, I love that option C... I have had about 5 other drawings since the original one. One of them looked just like your option C. Same look on Levi Green's(Hammer Fab) 58 Apache. However due to muffler location and room, I need to go with an outer exhaust location. I think the tips will be custom machined and cool. The tail lights are a 61 Impala (ish) on the rear fenders.
