Re: 1987 GMC V1500 Sierra Classic LS swap/build
I feel like on my 90 the line just screwed in? But Yea, other than that, you will have to get the actual fitting from the back of the pump from one like your stock 87. Perhaps you could get a used one from eBay or something?

I put the "new" black fender on the d.s. to match. I think this truck will look so much better all black than two tone. It sucks swapping fenders by yourself b/c of the hinges for the hood. I actually had the spring pop off the ds hinge. I put it back on but now the hood barely stays up, the slightest breeze and it starts to come down. I now need to take the front doors of my crew cab short bed build to match these fenders and gain the power mirrors. I think I have to take fenders back off to swap doors though so that will wait. I need to get some welding done and wiring done. Also how hard is it to replace the triangle glass? Never done it.

The steering pump fitting is called a low pressure relief vlave. Not sure what the pressure is you need but maybe the verbage might help you find one. Here is an example of one.

I wont be needing those wheels!
Still haven't found the low pressure relief valve for the powersteering pump. I have been working hard to get my shop going. I graded the land last weekend but weather here kinda sucks right now. Probably not near as bad as the north though.

Re: 1987 GMC V1500 Sierra Classic LS swap/build
I have been working on putting this puzzle back together. Buying a "used" pole building saves a lot of coin but you got to figure out how they had it together in the first place if you want to reuse all the material. It has been fun!! Once I get it together and powered this LS swap may finally get road worthy!
Had a little bit of an accident here. This building has been tough doing it alone. Luckily I got my dad over to help set up the trusses. Well the first one we tried and this happened! First time I have ever had one do this! My dad was not enthused after this about setting the others. Getting it done though. Now to sort out the puzzle of how the metal goes back on! Hopefully I can have it finished this month. So far this 24x30 pole building has only costed me about $2300 total. I am actually going to add two enclosed lean toos, one on the back and one on the side that can be fully accessible from inside the shop. I also plan to pour a pad that extends pass the shop about 20' because I do plan on expanding it at least another 20-30' when time/money allows. I am hoping with concrete and my additions I will have less than $4000 total in it. Fingers crossed.

The white cab is off a 2006 4x4 Silverado 4.8/auto, I had bought a 2006 Ext Cab Silverado V6 2wd (Around $500) with a locked down engine (the frame that is shown in the pics), then I bought a 2006 4x4 silverado 4.8 drivable frame (Around $1200) with that chopped up cab and no other body and did a body swap. In the end I ended up with my 06 4x4 ext cab Silverado w/ 4.8/auto for around $2000. I drive it all the time, it is one of the best investments/builds I have ever done. I am using it as my "work" truck while my 87 is apart for this LS swap. I actually did a small build thread for the 06 on here. Here are some updated pics of the shop, I am not sure if I will finish this month due to rain and me needing someone to come out and grade the rest of the land for the lean toos and the extra 20' pad off the side. I am very happy to almost have the roof done!! This is where I just had a bunch of trees/brush/briars cleared out! You used to not be able to see the shop from this view. Now it is all cleaned out and will be used to make my driveway to my shop. It is amazing what you can do with a tractor.

Re: 1987 GMC V1500 Sierra Classic LS swap/build
I really appreciate you saying that. It drives my wife nuts b/c I am always wanting to be doing something. It is going to get a lot "worse" when I finish this shop. I have so many projects in mind and things I want to try and do, sometimes it amazes me! However, #1 priority is finishing this LS swap. After that I need to focus on mastering how to use the EFI Live scan/tune tool I bought. Then it will be a toss up between doing my 87 crew cab swap onto the 01 chassis or finishing out my 79 Trans Am. I have craving something with some speed lately so I got a feeling the Trans Am will be next.
I really appreciate all the support on here, besides about 2 friends it is all the support I get. Everyone else I know just likes sitting inside and watching TV. In the end all of this is to gain experience and product knowledge. I have a friend who is just like me in the ambition/motivation department but he has a little bit more money to play with due to no wife or kids, so the plan is for us to start a business in the future. We plan to design/build/sell our own parts and products.

Re: 1987 GMC V1500 Sierra Classic LS swap/build
Yeah, I have a big feeling the Trans Am will be next on the list. I am really yearning for something I can go get on the highway and bang through some gears. First things first though, I have got to finish this shop. All this damn rain just keeps pushing back progress b/c I really can't get too much farther until I get the rest of the land graded for the lean toos and extra pad... I could really use a few dry days back to back.
I didn't get barely anything productive done this weekend on the shop. I did install a new drain in my bath tub though and bought a $600 washing machine. Those damn things have gotten too expensive. If I can get my refridgerator to stop leaking water then all my appliances will be in good working order.. Knock on wood...

Thank you for the kind words, it helps as motivation. It is killing me stepping away from it to do other higher priority things. I do not like to let projects sit. I am having a hell of a good time innovating and making ways for this to work. Hopefully, when I am done doing it "my" way I will document it more neatly as a guide for others who dont want to just do the swap the normal way. Stay tuned I suppose, hopefully I won't dissapoint.

Re: 1987 GMC V1500 Sierra Classic LS swap/build
Small update on the shop.
Trying to grade/level some addition land for the side and rear lean-tos I plan to add. Also flattened out on the other side for my addition 20' long pad I want for outside. I also got some of the side metal up and one door. Picking up another big load of materials tomorrow. Hoping to get my lean-tos frame in this weekend, or at least most of it and some metal on the front. Depends on the weather I suppose.

Re: 1987 GMC V1500 Sierra Classic LS swap/build
Thanks, I am hoping to finish or get close to finishing framing up my lean-tos this weekend as well as getting as much metal on as possible. My bday is 4/30 and I would love to have concrete poured by then!! However, since I am doing this all myself I am not sure if that date is reasonable. I am trying though. I got to get it done and get my 87 in there to finish this LS swap!!
