Did you buy the 72 recently? Looks like the one I looked at for sale outside Ashboro NC about a month or so ago. I really like your 71. What drop are you using on your 71?

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.
I bought the 72 a few months ago with plans of bags and possibly a body drop cause I can't bring myself to cut on the 71! It seems my plans and mind change every time the wind blows so now I'm considering selling the 72, after dumping a decent amount of $ into it! The 71 has 3" drop springs w/ a round and a half cut out in the front and 2" blocks w/ heated springs out back. If I decide to sell the 72 I'll probably go ahead and bag the 71, just keep a small notch and nothing more. I guess only time will tell but for now I've got the wife's 57 Bel-air torn down in the shop and since she helps pay for all my toys I guess it'd only be fair to at least get her on the road!

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.
Granted, I'm more of a factory look kind of guy. I respect the hard work that has been put into all of these Jimmys and Blazers, but for the life of me, I just don't get the lowering thing.??? It just doesn't look right to me. I certainly believe that "to each his own", but I just don't understand why a person would slam their truck down on the ground. I've riden in some friends trucks that are lowered and they seem to have all kinds of issues. I know not all of them do, but it's just weird to me. Just sayin....

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.
Here's the 72 GMC I picked up a couple weeks ago. Previously owned by VanceH in Idaho. The guy he sold it to installed a 6" Rancho lift kit, 35" x 12.5" Bighorns, and 15x10 Rock Crusher alloys. Needs some cleanup work, radiator support and body bushings, and a set of hubs in the short term. Long term I want to repaint back to the original dark blue and get the lower woodgrain trim back on it.

Thanks I love it more every time I drive it except in the rain. You know what I am saying you live in the north west too. Fuel injection and 700r4 is a must though.

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.
Well, I haven't had the top off of mine yet. Fortunately we don't get the quantity of rain you guys get. I'm up in the high deserts of Eastern Oregon. The winters probably make up for it. Those cold winter winds suck when you don't have a real good seal around the driver's side door window... I keep getting these little blasts of winter air in my ear!!!

Blazer looks great .
would you care to share some more pictures on the side rails you made. I really dont have many. They were included in the purchase. We beefed them up so they fell in line with the doors. |
