LOL no rattle Can.
i did the rustoleum ROLLER aproach.

paint has been on there for a few months now and i finally got around to washing it for the first time this weekend. cold/freezing weather, snow, slush, dirt, and grime was building up on it pretty fast. washed it all off and she still looks good paint is holding up great thus far. this truck is my daily driver so she is exposed to the elements.

here is the thread i posted for the paint job i did

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

i did all the trim work (i.e. doors, hood, joints, tight spots) with full strength paint and a foam brush. the first coat i thined out to 70/30 mix (70% paint 30% mineral spirits). the second coat was a little closer to 80/20 or so. i wet sanded after the second coat then did two more coats with no thiner. i want to wet sand it and get at least two more coats down on it but i ran out of time. the paint can says it needs 24 hrs to dry but i would wait about 6 hrs between coats or until the paint was dry to the touch, it actually set up pretty fast. i thought it would be better to put the paint down while the other coats were still slightly tacky to help it bond.......not sure if thats the right idea or not.
i will have to wait until the weather warms up a bit before i can get more paint down on it but what i have on it now should help protect the body from moisture.
i kind of rushed it becuz all i had was a weekend to do it and wanted to get as much done as i could but i was able to get it all done in a weekend. the hardest part is waiting for the paint to dry
i used a dense/firm foam roller to apply the paint.

6 inch lift and 35 inch tires and the differential is still dragging in the snow. and its still coming down, this is my driveway, roads are the same.

not a great pic but you get the idea

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

I would love to hear from you guys that have lifted your 4X4's...I would like to lift my '67 CST, but dont want to deal with pedals and other stuff( like u bolts on axle etc)...is getting the leaf springs reshaped the best way?? or do you have some other thoughts...

I can get the rear up w/ the air bag...and found a pair of air shocks that are 14" that will fit the front...so I cold get enough "up" to put on some bigger tires ( say 31.5 10.50's similar)

any ideas will be appreciated...t

I have posted this before...but here again is the truck...

you could always go with a body lift. they are cheap, and you never need to touch any suspension parts. or you could go with a conventional lift kit, but the smallest ive seen them is 4". there are also a few other methods, but they would be the first ones to do IMO

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

thanks... are you referring to a kit like LMC has...or do you know a better source?...not many stores or shops around where I live...so internet or doing a spring shop thing is what available to me.

3" would be fine...that would get any tire I like on easy...

thanks again...t

nice truck, I would avoid the body lift... If you only need a little lift I would add-a-leaf for the front and rear or use a zero rate leaf for the same affect. My add-a leaf gained 1.5" before weight was put back on...

You will need to probably get new U-bolts but your shocks should still be find. Using airshocks and bags will make it drive like a 1ton and only wear out in the long run.

i have looked for add-a-leafs for the '67 and AFAIK they only have them for the front. the back leafs are 2 1/4", and they are different then the 69-62, but the fronts are the same (2 1/2").

and everyone has their own opinion, but at long as you dont plan on rock crawling through the woods, body lift would be fine and dandy. if you do plan on offroading, definatly get lift springs.
