That sucks man. I`ve been following your build and the truck looks awsome. My wife wasn`t too happy that I got my 62 but she caught me reading this thread and saw the pics of your truck and she really likes it. I love the style. I was thnking of doing mine in a suede orange or turquise with a white top and white walls. I wasn`t sure if the wife would go for the look but she seems too.

Glad to be of service with the wife !! At times it's tuff to get them to cross over to the 'dark-side' of life !!

At times the wife talks crap about my truck...except when someone pulls up to us, and she tells me to 'blow his a$$ away!' It funny how many compliments you get from just rattle can primer...

Wow, off McKee huh ?? I grew up right off of Santa Clara St/Alum Rock/101 area.

My folks bought a house years ago right next to that big church and hall on S Clara st.

Cool man...

Chief, what size tires are you running? I`ve been looking at the radial WWW but they are so expencive. The bias ply`s are alot cheaper. How do your ride?

I am running the Denman G78-15's.....

I went for this style because they were reasonably priced ($100 a piece), and because I like the ol-skool lowrider look....also they have a HUGE WW.

I have found that these tires have a super resilient WW too. They clean up really well, and can take the "ol-lady curb brakeing system" shots.

They ride great...although they would ride alot better if my front suspension wasn't so screwed up.

In time, that will all be resolved.

One thing about these tires, is they tend to "find" the grooves on the freeway.

I did have the toe and caster set on my truck for now. The PO hacked up the front coils, but I am slowly collecting Caddy disc parts, mid-year spindles, and other goodies for a swap.

I have other customers in line, so my stuff is always on the back-burner.

Later....

Good Stuff! I am new to this board but enjoyed going through this entire thread at lunch

I have a 62, not sure how far and what all I want to do, but I really got some idea on how to do certain things, thanks to you!

Waiting on new steering wheel to get mine back on the road, just replaced the column with ididit and power steering which I should finish this weekend, and a complete rewire. Probably should have done the engine first, but it runs pretty good even though its ugly..... I will get some pics this weekend and post some up of my progess

Cool man....looks like I have been a help to quite a few. This goes to show how you can do something "low-budget" and still be ok.

Feel free to ask questions......on here or PM

Hey Rocka

Man, I love your truck. It's made me change my mind about long beds. I used to be a SWB only guy, but long and low is just as nice. Those WW's are the bomb!

I got a couple of friends with a shop on E. San Fernando and 28th. That must be right around the block from you

Maybe try the white grille and bumper, and paint the factory stripe red(the part that is white on original trucks ,on the fender and grille support)- make sure to leave the inner, behind grille black though...
