Yeah don't body your truck if you don't have to. There is a TON more work to get it that low, and other issues that most guys wont tell you about.

The truck is sitting on the CM in that pic. I never wanted to body this ride, maybe the next one, but not this truck. I want it just like it sits today.

So Santa UPS dropped by today and left these toys for me to play with! Trying to get this truck ready for Lone Star Throwdown and other 2016 shows.

Re: 75 Dually build

Well I actually got some real work done on the truck tonight. I am changing out the brake booster and master cylinder from the Suburban to the correct hydro boost booster and matching master cylinder. The brakes should work a lot better from now on. The only thing I have left to do is get new lines made up for the high pressure side, and get a "T" fitting to tie into the low pressure return line. The pics below show the new master and the hydro boost just after I shot some Rustoleum on them for protection.

Lots more to do before it rolls out of the shop, but at least I am checking off one item at a time.

Stay tuned...

Re: 75 Dually build

The hydro boost is now done! Ok I still have to bleed the brakes, but hey it's mostly done!! Yes the brake lines need the bends to be cleaned up, and all that wiring needs to be cleaned up as well. The underside of the engine bay really needs some attention.

I was so glad to have the OEM lines from Napa. They made this so much easier and cleaner. I also did the spark plugs on this side of the motor because the brake system was out of the way. Talk about a knuckle buster with all that stuff in the way... I will get the other side done tomorrow, we are now getting freezing rain and more snow on the way. Yeah!

I just cant get past all the lines from OE set-ups. That's why I swapped to a vacuum. There were a couple high end set-ups that really clean things up (HydraTech) but their about a G.

Are you bringing both to LST? I'm almost tempted to bring the new 68 on my trailer to LST.

Re: 75 Dually build

Do you mind getting a pic when you can. I'm running a 454. Buy it has the remote reservoir for power steering and I haven't been able to find a new hose. And just wanna run the single unit pump/reservoir.

Re: 75 Dually build

Does your pump have the keyed shaft or the smooth one? I need a keyed one to mount my new pulleys, but I can't seem to figure out which years they came on...

In all truth I do not know. My pump is a new pump, but it has been so long since I installed it... However I checked the Oriley's website, they have great pictures, and it showed a smooth shaft. So I would have to assume that is what I have. If it were me I would go down to Autozone (or similar parts outlet) and just have them pull a couple of pumps and check them out that way.

Made a pedestal for the eLevel touch pad last night, got it installed today after work. I will leave it unfinished for a while so I can concentrate on other portions of the interior.
