Let's hope no news is good news. Like Ol Blue said, if he got it he'll be so excited he'll forget about the computer for a while. I'm assuming he got it because I believe if he didn't he'd already be on here letting us know that he got stood up on the cougar sale.

Re: Found me a possible truck 1971 gmc swb
Very glad you got the truck, now get off the Internet and get to cleaning. Start a build thread and like others have said anything you take off bag and label. Make sure to take good pics and most rusty parts you need to replace can be had local. Good luck with it and there is lots of help on this forum and I have that starter if you need it you just have to come get it!

Re: Found me a possible truck 1971 gmc swb
It won't blow up but you should not star it because the engine is not held in place very well without a trans holding it up. It may shake around a bit bust the dust cap off on the firewall then flop forward and put the fan through the shroud and destroy your fan and radiator and damage your ego a little bit too.
Oh welcome to the family little brother schrum Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Found me a possible truck 1971 gmc swb
well looky looky what we have here. congratulations on the new ride. don't try to crank that truck up until you drain out that old nasty fuel. put fresh fuel in it first and then crank it up. the old gas will gum up the engine and that will blow it up

Re: Found me a possible truck 1971 gmc swb
The Schrummobile make its entrance! Great job. Did the PO say anything about the engine? The reason I ask is that the truck was parked for a reason, and since the trans was removed it was probably usable. That may mean there was a problem with the engine. Hope not.
